Calzono is good friends with Dr. Schulz, so this may be his source for the report from today's media rights update with Dr. Klaitkoff.

Sounds like good news, regardless.

Wonder if the Pac-12 expansion announcements are soon to follow?

Anything that is phrased "aligned and excited" from the presidents/chancellors should be taken with an absolute grain of salt. They have proven themselves incapable of managing this conference or in way that would inject any sort of optimism.

Agree, at this point, it's anything but speculative.

That said, w/ the Wilner leak this morning, and other leaks this afternoon, sounds like Apple is all in w/ a sublicensing plan. My sense is TNT/TBS are willing to be a linear partner which would be huge as we could get our 12;30 and 4:00pm games on national TV. Sell another late-night game to ESPN on Saturday. Apple might want to carry Friday Night Football or something with the rest of the games showing up on the Apple TV package.

Good points T-Town.

That package could be the one that "saves" the Pac-12

Just can't figure out why Dr. Klaitkoff didn't bring forward this proposal a few days ago when Colorado was still in the conference?

Did it take the Buffaloes leaving to get Apple and TNT and TBS to the table with serious offers?

One of the rumors (can't keep track of them all) is that Apple wasn't offering escalators in the in their initial proposal. Now they are.
