IDAHO HIGH SCHOOL ALL-STAR BASKETBALL GAMES: Worth the wait ... area stars shine in 20th annual games at North Idaho College

Since changing the format in 2016 from North vs. South to a Metro (Boise area) vs. Region (rest of the state), the Region boys have won three of seven games. The Region girls lead the current series 5-2.

Tony Bennett’s recruit Blake Buchanan had 19 points but our walk-on post LaBeau from Boise was the leading scorer with 22.

Don’t want to read to much into it but its nice to see!

Coach Smith has put together a pretty solid stable of walk-on players. Not sure if they’ll ever be more than practice players buts it’s nice to see. The twins apparently have each grown 2 inches and put on 15 lbs according to the official roster. Also Rohosy is now listed an inch taller and 10 pounds heavier.

Exactly, not too much to read into at this point but when Smith was hired they offered Chatfield as a walk-on. He ended up getting a ride at SU. The staff has done a good job projecting lightly recruited players. No idea what LaBeau becomes, but he looked like a good walk-on pickup in his highlights to me.
