5 - Star PG Channel Molina Verbal

Saw this on Brandx & Coug Digest.

ESPN Top 100 (44) Channel Molina commits to Daugherty & WSU. Offers from the Pac 12. Has 2 younger sisters and says they will follow.

Great start for next years class!

Thanks for posting this. I saw this on BX a little while ago too. This is fantastic news. I saw at the bottom of one of the articles that Cameron Fernandez also committed to WSU.

That is awesome news. 5 star talent coming to womens hoop isn't something I saw in the cards, well, ever at WSU

Unfortunately, what wins in Pac-12 women's hoops is 5-star talent in the middle that no one else can defend. Just ask Stanford and Cal, who repeatedly use that formula to finish at the top of league standings, as well as upstart OSU, who copy-catted them last year with great success.

So true. It is a difference maker.

Hamblin killed us in the middle last year and looking around I saw Graves already has 4 Top 100 players committed for the 2016 class.

I'm hoping McClure can provide that athletic big we haven't had but I thought she was somewhat of a project and she needs help. Blanaru has the size but still needs to get in better shape and develop her game. I was able to see some of Kostourkova in the Euro U20 and she has good skills but isn't an athletic big.

I am still with the others though. Molina was crucial and Fernandez looks like a quality guard. They should have 3 left to give and hopefully they are in on some athletic bigs but that hasn't seemed like a priority for Daugherty for whatever reason and it doesn't help WSU take the next step.

Just curious. Do you think that athletic bigs is not a priority with Daugherty, or bigs that are athletic do not think that WSU is their priority? After all, athletic posts are few and far between and those that are usually attend more prestigious basketball schools.

Hard for me to believe they aren't trying but this may go back to Daugherty at the UW. There's a UW poster over on Brandx who warned Daugherty prefers the 'Euro big' type.
