Honestly, I'm kinda done with the AR offense and having to depend on having a Manning level qb who can evaluate a defense pre-snap every time to be successful. I'm not sure how big of an ask that actually is, but I'm sensing that if these kids didn't run it in high school they have to be an uber mensch to grasp the concept or they simply will never get it.

Also, and I may be wrong, but I'm not seeing a safety valve route in Arbuckle's offense. We're not running the RB swing passes to effect like we used to see under Leach. You'd think that would be an necessity when you have a qb that can't read the defense and an OL that can't block, but what do I know?

What happened with AZ, we've seen a hundred times before in the past decades.

Cougs start a season with three or four wins, get full of themselves and then lose ( UCLA, this year ) a close game to a tough opponent, the first real test of the season ! Happened with all past coaches !

Then, the next game, home or away, the team plays like shit ! They've had their precious egos deflated, and are going to take a game off and sulk.

Lucky to go 6 - 6 this year. ONLY hope is to reconstitute the PAC - whatever and hope the program can recruit and be competitive at MTW level ! Campus should have been in Spo from day 1 ! BIG 12 invite ??? Stupid IF you think that was gonna happen !

**** the dogs !

The historical collapse was in the month of November. We start off hot, get hurt and our lack of talented depth shows.

Dickert likes to play conservative (by conversative, nothing over the middle, etc.) and you better deliver on the offense because the defense isn't tough enough to keep the score low enough.

Also others have mentioned these receivers run their route and then stop. Obviously this is a timing offense but when 8 are dropping your QB isn’t always going to have his eyes on that window the split second it’s open. When he scrambles the receivers need to scramble with him to find open space just not seeing much of that, makes me think it’s not coached. If not they better damn well start because they are gonna see a lot of this scheme and they sure as hell arent running at it.

3 weeks ago someone projected 10 wins, and I warned, just like I am now, this is Cougar football anything can happen. I do believe AZ is better than most realize, which is sad, as bad as they were for years, they have now passed us. So assuming you are counting Oregon and UW as a loss. The other 4 teams present problems as well. Cal is improving, ASU is down there, Tempe has never been kind. Stanford lost to AZ by 1, and Colorado just lost to Stanford. Any team that can rush 3 and get pressure, which isn't difficult to do with our Oline, will cause us problems. Based upon our 1st 4 wins, winning 8 of those games sounds reasonable, but based upon our last 2 losses and 3rd one coming up, winning 2 of 4 might be difficult.

8 wins would probably require beating ASU in Tempe, Stanford at home, Cal in Berkeley, and Colorado at home. Near-certain losses to UW and Oregon. There's no reasonable way to see beating either of those teams unless some major injury nonsense hits either team, and we aren't seeing that with Oregon.

It's certainly possible WSU could beat all four of ASU, Stanford, Cal, and Colorado, but I'd put the O/U on remaining wins at 2.5. Honestly, my gut says more like 1.5.

It's not so much that the sky is falling. It's just that I don't think ASU is a gimme in Tempe, Cal on the road frequently is a lot tougher and/or weirder than it should be, even if WSU is the superior team, Stanford looks like it found something in the second half against Colorado, and Colorado itself, especially if Hunter plays, probably is going to be favored against WSU in Pullman.

Wilcox is (literally) licking his chops right now.

Hunter got torched vs the big Furd receiver. But that receiver is an NFL-sized guy. I thought Furd had some studs. They have found a QB now, too. That was a team I had as a very likely "W"....but now I'm thinking <50% chance of winning vs them now.

Agree that it is hard to find a couple of wins the remainder of the season. This is a real major test of the young OC and Dickert. We will see what they are made of. The past two weeks have certainly rocked us to our core on this team's capabilites.

The team I watched lose badly to Arizona looked like a team on a serious skid. 0 fight at all in the second half. Not sure if there are coaching rumors or drama in the looker room but something seems to have changed. As much as I hate to see it, I don't know how the team on the field last Saturday night wins much of anything from here out.

I think the winner of the CU Vs WSU game will go to a bowl, the loser will open Christmas gifts at home.

We will be lucky to win 6.

ASU might be the only win left this year, and the last conference road win for a long time if we manage to pull it out.

We never play well in Tempe. I’m not prepared to call that a win.

Eight wins still on the table? I also got tonight’s lottery ticket on the table. I think I have a better chance of winning that ticket if they continue to play like Saturday. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a cougar team look that disjointed and dispirited. This will be a very interesting test for Dickert. I hope they bounce back. I also hope I win the lottery.

As bad as the offense was, it was more than that.

We went from a team that tackled well to looking like the message was "tackle if you feel like it...and feel free to take some plays off here and there"

-Stupid penalties.
-Personal fouls.
-Lack of fire.

We looked like the worst team in the conference by far on Saturday.

I don't know what happened during the bye...but whatever it was it wasn't good.

Would be nice to qualify for a bowl game because it'll mean winning a few more games this year. Either way though, bowl or not, the majority of our top players will be opting out of it.

The scramble drill has been a problem since Leach left.

If we don't play a lot better than we have the last two weeks, there isn't one more win on the table.
