It shows that Leach still has the respect of his players and they will play for 60 minutes for him. Leach's screen play to Harrington is a brilliant call and well executed.

The late win show Falk is capable of winning a game late, and you have to wonder if he was available against PSU if he would have found pay dirt. I kind of think he might have.

I am not sure we will ever see an easy win in conference play. But a win is a win. We now have to steal one in Pac 10 play and not lose one to OSU or another school that we were counting on to get bowl eligible.

On paper, it's a win on the road, 3,000 miles from home, against a P5 team that went 8-5 last year.

In reality, Rutgers may only win a couple games this year and we struggled to beat them (with the same issues that have become persistent with our program). But, we are certainly not in a position to turn our noses up at wins right now.

I'll take the W...and Falk really showed something we never saw in Halliday.

But it doesn't have to be this hard!

2 red zone trips, zero points including that 3rd and 1 call when you have Wicks.

Speaking of Wicks, I would love to see more of the twin back set he ran at UK all the time with Wicks and Harrington.

The two kids need more touches. They are very good.

I really think if this team ran the ball more the offense would be almost unstoppable.

I don't have a remedy for the coverage units..except pray.

You don't win good enough, so me still no like.

It's hard to say good Rutgers is or isn't, but west coast teams winning on the east coast is never an easy feat. The Seahawks struggled with that monkey for years and years. May not have been perfect, but it was a win. This team obviously still has lots of room to improve, but to me it is encouraging that they were able to bounce back after the PSU mess. That says a lot, IMO.

A lot of people predicted we would lose to Rutgers before the season even began and would be 1-1.

We're 1-1 with a reverse outcome. I think as the season progresses we will get better. There was a lot to figure out, and as many noted some of the largest growth is from week 1 to week 2, and the team definitely did get better in some areas, and yes there are some areas that still have much to improve.

We have Wyoming and then a bye week. That's another two weeks of improvement before Pac-12 play starts.

There are 5 road games in Pac-12 play. And 4 home games.

We just need about two a piece road/home. I think we can do that to go bowling.

In fairness, you'd have also had him run into the line three times late in the first half rather than go for the points we ended up getting, if there's any consistency to your thinking.

We battled on the road to a much better opponent... to a WIN... one week later... Overcoming adversity to do so.

We're 1-1

I'll take it.

WIN GOODER OR ELSE!
What did you bump your head on your clown car or sumpthin? What did you go up a tall ladder and fall off and crack or skull or sumpthin? What did you have brain surgery and have your brain removed or sumpthin?

OSU and Cu at home, UW, Cal or Arizona on the road. While doable not very much margin for error.

Didn't we need the points when we were on the 11 and 4th and one-ish? How do you know when to go get the points and when we don't need them?

No need to jump out of the clown car at the same time.

Come on guys, enough with the petty stuff.

Rutgers won 8 games last year, including beating us and hammering North Carolina in their bowl game. I think it was a "great" win on Saturday. How many of our teams over the past 30 years have coasted in similar games? Everyone thought we were going to lose leading up to the game, and even the most loyal diehards thought we choked it away after that punt return TD. It was an anti Coug it win.

Rutgers will likely struggle the rest of the way given the baggage they're dealing with, but last Saturday we faced a team on par with many of the teams on our schedule. If we beat Wyoming next week, we hit the bye week 2-1 and head into October with hope.

Yuh-huh.

It's as though I was pointing out what a stupid prerogative that would be to have.

You just made it for me.
In your book, passing on 3rd and 1 and running an ill coordinated qb sneak on 4th is great coaching.

2 red zone trips that resulted in zero points. Spin however you want but that's not good.

Hey, you've been BEGGING for more run- I just assumed you called that play call in. You'll have to show me where I said the thing you say I did, though- I'm sure you're right, and not just making stuff up again.

A win is good, but you're not as excited to discuss it as you were last week's loss. Spin however you want, but that's not good.

Lot more board activity last week in general.

Nice try though.

Lucky for me it wasn't a slapping.
