Time for Leach to hit the sandpit.

Poorly coached, poorly motivated, piss poor effort. Zero intensity, no sense of urgency.

How bout that short kick by PSU? Brilliant call. If WSU had fumbled that one too it'd be even more brilliant.

How the f do you not crank up the tempo on PSU and have their 400lbs noseguard dying? Or their big linebackers?

And for those of you ripped Halliday and wanted Falk, you're wrong. Falk is nowhere near the QB CH was. Maybe when he gets sacked 50 times in a season and has his liver and leg broken he'll get the hint that he'd better be a helluva lot faster with his decision making and get rid of the damn ball!

Im on the fire Leach bandwagon....... He has to go. Year 4 and we lose to Portland St at home? NO EXCUSES. I'm done with him..... Next coach up please

Unless they stun Rutgers, I don't think I can watch another game from this team.

I can't even get angry anymore. To borrow the country tune phrase, 'my give-a-damn's busted.'

Rutgers wins 55-0.

Where does WSU get 6 wins and a bowl? Where does WSU get 3 wins? What was the point of firing Breske again?

The defense sucks. How many times did PSU skill players get around the edge? WTF do you think Oregon is gonna do? It's a track meet.

Either the WSU linebackers are too slow to get there, too dumb to read the play or just can't get off blocks.

Simply amazing.

I've never seen such poor containment , both sides of the field

Apparently we're teaching arm tackling all practice long.

He owns us. We cannot fire him.
I'm aware of this but, he has officially buried this season. He is washed up and Cougar football is washed up too. I cant watch another minute of this train wreck. I thought Paul Wulff was a disaster but at least he never lost to an FCS school. By far the most embarrassing game I've ever witnessed by the Cougs.

The good news is that Leach's contract only requires that we pay him 60% of his salary if he is fired. Bad news is that is still a giant pile of cash. I'm going to hope that we turn things around yet this year. Most of our opponents have issues too, just wish that we didn't.

I don't know what was wrong with them but it was just sluggish everywhere. The weather? No fans? I don't know, but they didn't play fast or as biggs says urgency. When Leach said tempo was important going in at half it was as if he saw it too. Maybe Falk was scared or nervous or something. I have no idea what was wrong with them.

Halliday for his setbacks at least was confident and made things happen. Falk was just way too timid. Someone mentioned it reminded them of Tuel. I agree it was too much thinking not enough doing.

How do you lead your team to victory on the road against SC, a team WSU has beaten maybe 10 times in 100 tries.... and then lose to Portland State at home?

And I understand different players, different years, injuries, yada yada yada. I get it.

I also know the funding. WSU has what, 25 more scholarships to offer? WSU has $22M more dollars per year. WSU spent $60M on a football ops building. WSU has the scales so far tipped in their advantage in this game it's ridiculous and they come out and get beat. I'd say lay and egg if that's what it was. It wasn't. And the interception may very well have been a bad call. That wasn't the difference maker.

PSU out coached, out played, out hustled WSU at every corner. WSU, with its enormously successful history of winning football to draw on, showed up entitled. They thought there were gonna win cause they were WSU and PSU was PSU.

There had better be a "fat little girlfriends" speech going on right now. Bowl game is done.

The most embarassing was all that knee-taking against USC. But this is BY FAR the most disappointing. To have what we were all hoping would be at least a functional Pac 12 team come out and $#!t the bed like that makes me not want to bother investing any energy into it anymore. A solid decade of futility is enough.

Well if you look at the 1st half we held them to 60 yards and were running over them...all be it slow..but we were..then second half...they run over us and we are hosed and can't do much of anything offensively. We should have just handed it off to wicks morrow and harrington the whole game.

It's too much 7 on 7 and not enough live bullets. The QBs play like no one is gonna hit them so they just stand there in the pocket like there's nothing going on around them. And Im not saying you have to hit your QB in practice to teach them this. But you have to do something. This kid won't last a season. He may already be done. Bender steps in and does the same. There is something wrong in the carryover from practice to the game. Throw the damn ball.

Forget the interception and the toss-up pass interference calls. If you have to point to a couple a officiating quibbles as a possible reason you lost to an at best middling Big Sky team with a brand new quarterback, then you've already lost. And yeah I assume there will be a painter coming in to redo the locker room after the coaches are done talking. But you know what? I'm not sure it's going to make a damned bit of difference.

They're soft kids. Did you see how many guys were hiding under the tent to get out of the rain? Amazing. Not surprised they got run over on the goal line.

WTF do you care if you get wet? You have a helmet on. And you have a $60M brand new facility to get warm in. Personally, I think the entire team and coaches should be using another facility on campus. Somewhere small, cramped, cold water only, no heat, generally a lousy in every way. The FOB should be earned, not given. These kids are soft.

100% spot on. Want a chuckle? Check out the game score predictions thread. Of course, I'm as guilty as anyone....can't blame anyone for thinking a bowl game hopeful Pac-12, Power 5 Conference team would have an easy time beating a team that is expected to finish in the lower half of the Big Sky.

Stunning, to say the least. But probably should not have been stunning given the past 10 years of this program.

Well that's a little much, but I get what you are saying. People were more worried about trying to stay dry instead of embracing the opportunity to play.

Portland State was expected to win one big sky game and one game overall and finish last in their conference. They are one of the worst teams in D-1 aa

Couldn't defend the pistol when there's someone on the staff who helped invent the f'n thing. Are these coaches talking?

Time for Leach to hit the sandpit.

Poorly coached, poorly motivated, piss poor effort. Zero intensity, no sense of urgency.

Seriously Biggs, mister 8-10 year plan! Give me a break. We needed a grumbling and high expections from day one, not in year 4 after the most embarassing loss in living memory.

people understand Halliday was special... and now he's gone... and so is Cooper and Pole... and we are starting a WALKON at QB in year... and that Rivals says we've recruited dead last in the Pac-12, on average, over the past 4 seasons. We're there even 10,000 fans there today???

How high of expectations could you legitimately put on the guy in his first year after taking over the dumpster fire? It's year 4, while I still believe it'll take 8 years, losing to a FCS school isn't part of it.

So go pound sand.

I'm done, drank the Kool-Aid and was wrong. What a joke of a performance, Grinch defense was a joke, offense was a joke. No way to spin this. New President needs to fire the AD, then fire the coach and get in a new system in here.

This game was a scandal, but it's not the worst - even in recent history. Getting pounded by USC 69-0 was the worst.

That said, this was the easiest game on the schedule. The next easiest game isn't even in the same galaxy as this one. Knowing that, where is the next win on the schedule? On the road against Rutgers, who beat their bodybagger today by 50? Our only hope is Wyoming and Colorado to pick up 2 before Moos gives Leach a 2016 ultimatum.

Is it too late to get a refund on my Rutgers road trip?

You know what we need now? Heartwarming tales about CML's boyhood in Wyoming. Or perhaps a quirky remark about fat girls. Maybe even a new historical figure(with an accompanying book) that caught his eye at the moment.

I think Portland State with Kuresa would beat Wyoming this year. No excuses for WSU not whipping the crap of them...just saying.

Let me try something here. When he is interviewed he is glib, unemotional and appears not to want to be bothered. His demeanor on the sideline is passionless as are the coaches. This team reflects that attitude no fire, no aggression. I think once he did the Key West thing... He was mentally and emotionally done

exactly what I was thinking when they were shown hiding under that tent, why was that even on the sideline in the first place?

Stop it --you know football history, the turn around occurs for bad schools by year 3, seldom after. Leach might be different, but losing to a bottom rung Big Sky school in game 37, suggests little improvement, 4 years in.

I already went through other schools. Nobody has turnarounds in 3 years or less in Power 5 with the recruiting we had going in. It's year 4 now. This is Leach's guys. I mean on paper it's tremendously better, but this looked poor.

It all stops at the top as far as coaching. On the offensive team it all starts at the O line. This is what happens when a team has an equipment manager coaching the O line. The receivers are led by a coach, immature kid, who has never run a pass route in his life. These are two of the integral parts of a team's offense. Hindsight is 20/20 but it seems like Leach is still in fugue like stage. This performance was horrible and the program does not look good at this point.Maybe it is time to look forward to basketball?

exactly what I was thinking when they were shown hiding under that tent, why was that even on the sideline in the first place?

Woody Hayes goes out to practice one day and its a cold day... He sees his football coaches with their hands in their pockets during practice. Their hands were cold.

The next day the coaches find that their sweat pants pockets have all been sewn shut. Coach Hayes felt like they were displaying weakness to his football team and he corrected it.

Im not saying Coach Leach is displaying weakness. Im saying that having football players hide under a tent to get out of the rain during a game is soft. Their minds were somewhere else. They wanted to be somewhere else.

When the going gets tough and you need to win a close ball game, are you going to do it with guys that hide and cuddle under a tent to get out of the rain? As we found out today you are not.

Aside from the muffed punt or mental mistakes or bad calls or anything else that went wrong... I didn't watch this football game and feel like I was watching an inspired effort. I didn't see any tough guys. I didn't see any leaders. I didn't see any kid for WSU that made me think "wow, that kid's a hitter. He is all day tough."

Where are the leaders? Where is Jason Gesser, Steve Gleason, Billy Newman??? Who is the guy that rallies the troops? Who leads by example in his play? Who backs up his words by knocking some kid on the other team into next week????

If you're gonna lose a ball game going down swinging and fighting, fine. If you're gonna lose cause you didn't play hard? Just not good enough.

WSU wins by 3 touchdowns if they play inspired football today. Agree or disagree?

Stop deluding yourself, OSU and KSU were far far worst than us , and in year 4 of good coaching didn't get run over by a PSU calibre school. OSU went 25 + years without a winning season, KSU had gone 0-26-1 prior to Synder (wiki). Much like 66-3 and 69-0 were a warning sign, losing to a DII school for the first time in living memory, a mediocre one at that, says that in 4 years under Leach we haven't really improved since the worst coach to ever walk the sidelines, was our coach. That is sad.

Price admitted that Gesser saved his arse because he was tough with the team, when nice guy Price couldn't. He was, according to Price, the greatest football player he ever coached. We don't have a "I don't lose" player on this team that teammates idolize. Now what? I'd start by kicking Harrell off the staff, and replace him with Gesser. I can't believe that Gesser would allow any kid to hide from the rain in a tent, and he would do it in a way that would get the kids to buy in.
