Adam Conley gets call up.

The Miami Marlins have called up lefty Adam Conley from AAA New Orleans. He will be the first WSU player to make it to the bigs in quite a while.

Conley threw seven shutout innings in Tacoma last friday against the Rainiers.

That is good news. Anybody who makes it to AA or AAA lives on the edge, waiting for that call. And for a pitcher, especially, that first trip is huge. I wonder if they will begin with a relief appearance, or actually use him as a starter for his first appearance?? If you notice the answer, Dave, please post.

Conley is replacing a reliever who went on the DL so they expect he will be working out of the bullpen.

Thanks Dave. There was a time when the Cougars had at least one player on a MLB roster for a long time. Glad to see another Cougar made it to the show.

He has a good shot to play a long time in the league. LHRP are tough to find and hang onto. He was taken high in the draft for a reason, and he worked his way through the minors in a pretty solid time frame. Put up some decent numbers as a SP in AAA, will be interesting to see how he transitions out of the bullpen since he's always been a SP.
