An external audit of the entire PAC-12 structure seems obvious...

to recap;
1. We have a tennis network exec running our conference.
2. We have Dixon who’s single handedly inferred with games and bullied his agenda
3. You have a commissioner stating wait until 2022, that’s when the money comes
4. You have academics overseeing a major media company and budget that can’t fiscally manage their own educational institutions.
5. This year - bowls and revenue distribution - should be the final straw.

I would have the heads of the university Trustess hold their Presidents accountable. I would hold our Regents accountable. They agreed to a fiscal plan that Scott promised more resources. Scott is 100% responsible for that.

Everything should be on the table. Scott can be bought out. The network can get sold. Confidence needs restoration.

Have some of the folks that work for the Big 10 and ACC look at it. Similar academic reputations and roles within their states, running their conferences on smaller budgets and getting better performance (not all of that is West Coast football fans). Let them look at everything, make the recommendations public, and let the university regents and presidents decide what they will or won't do with it. Highly unlikely, but it would let everyone from the fans up to the regents and the commissioner know where they stand.

One thing that could/should be looked at is the Pac-12 Network itself, including its programming. Endless reruns of old games gets, well, old. Their newsy shows are OK at times, but are not really needed outside of FB season. We don't need them to concoct a bunch of "The Greatest" shows and a bunch of other repetitive drivel just to keep the lights on. Go dark when nothing worthwhile is happening.

IMHO there would be nothing wrong with scaling the whole thing back to televising FB and some BB games that are not otherwise picked up. Throw in a few VB and Baseball games to spread the "wealth". The notion that we need 90 full time employees creating content that 99% of viewers could care less about is not stupid, but it IS fiscally irresponsible. And to have it done in a suite of offices in one of the most expensive real estate locations in the country IS stupid AND irresponsible.

It's 2024!

If advertisers are willing to pay for time during the reruns then who cares? As long as the network is operating in the black, I don't.

Is it though? If there was no network, and all we got were the revenues from the other networks, Bowl proceeds, etc., and we got to play all of our games at decent times on Saturdays, would we be better or worse off? And/or if we just had a skeleton network that did nothing more than regionally televise the games not picked up by others, with reasonable kickoff times. I don't know, so I agree with the notion of a full-scale financial and business audit of the whole Pac-12 offices and network. Top to bottom.

How a university can call alums and donors asking for more and more $$$ while watching literally millions go to waste is asinine. How you can complain about lack of fans or revenue when youre conference is so fat is ridiculous.

If they want more $, stop asking fans and alums. Ask Michael Scott.

Again, I don't know, but repackaging owned content for re-air on our owned network is probably one of the most profitable things the network does. It's the same reason why syndicated tv reruns are so extremely profitable for networks - low cost, high returns.

I'm sure the P12N has plenty of room to improve to make more money, but re-airing content isn't one of them. I was specifically speaking to that.

I got ya. Sure as heck shouldn't take 90 people housed in downtown SF to condense the games and put them in the VCR ;) though.

Let's just hope the Presidents take heed of the uproar and outrage and start a full review of all things Larry Scott. And fire Woody for starters. He sure as he!! better not have a 5 year contract.

Alright here goes. How about a show dedicated to pac 12 officiating blunders, much like the NFL Football Follies.

Would be easy and inexpensive to find content and you would have months worth.

Calling Larry Scott Michael Scott is an insult to Michael Scott and Dunder Mifflin.
