Looks like Neufeld isn't interested. They have now offered Andrew Zelis a JC with 3 years of elgibility.

That is too bad if true about Neufeld. i am not that impressed with Zelis other than he has good size. The cougs already have a non talented big with size on the roster

Is he related to any of the following?

Justin Kordsmeier
Pawel Stasiak
Justin Garcia
Paulo Rower
et al

Well it seems like other schools are interested. It seems like ASU has offered and others are looking. Perhaps he is improving as reported? He does not have great jumping ability. However,he has very good hands and good timing. He does not have Neufelds range and quick feet but runs the court fairly well for a big man..So i rate him above the last big man who visited. i would guess that he will like WSU and may be a commit fairly soon unless Neufeld is still interested.

We all know there are usually extra scholarships available due to attrition. As of now however we only have 3 available for next year. In my personal opinion I would like to see the one remaining scholarship go to either Blackwell, Nate Grimes or Neufeld in that order.

i would reverse that order. I would go with Neufeld,Grimes and then Blackwell. This years frosh guards are better than people are giving them credit for. There are no big men taller than 6'7 on the roster who are legitimate D1 players. The only exception may be Izundu and he is all about potential and consistency. The cougs need big men and Neufeld would be a coup if Kent can land him.

I would love Neufeld because I think he has star potential. I am however one of the ones under estimating (hopefully wrongly) our new guards. You always talk about players not being D-1. Thats how I feel about our freshmen guards, they were all after thoughts for D-1 schools and even the JC was basically heading to Idaho before we swept in. I don't like to put to much stock in the recruiting sites and their star system. It is not uncommon for kids to be ranked to high or to low, but it is very very rare for kids completely unranked to step in and make a difference at a D-1 school, especially in a high major conference. Also if you look at the PAC 12 conference freshmen centers Hawkinson comparable numbers to all but the blue chip guys.

Well the Hawk has the size. If he contributes,it would make a big difference in the cougs team.I would not lose sleep if he was a valuable team member. The cougs will be small and they will have to be tenacious and active on the defensive side of the ball. I am hoping for a .500 + season to began a coug turnaround in basketball. We will see if the frosh guards can be productive. I believe that they will have to show improvement in their defensive abilities. Dunbar did well against more highly rated prospects who committed to "bigger" name schools. I really think that a lot of scouts are just guys who really do not know basketball but have found an easy lifestyle .

Is this guy still in play? He is visiting Nebraska and ASU has also offered. He would give the cougs some size which they do need.

Zelis s team will be participating in the Lincoln Jamboree in Illinois this Sunday. It is a big day for juco basketball as several teams will be participating. Zelis 's recruiting is picking up as St Bonaventure has offered and Tennessee is also reportedly interested. The cougs had previously offered and it is unknown if they are still recruiting for 2015. I guess that we will see if Coach Allen is among the observers. All of the "known " scholarships have been filled . However, the long term status of certain players on the current roster are unknown. The first basketball scrimmage will tell the tale if these players have big strides in their athletic and basketball abilities. So thetre may still be attrition and more new players added for 2015.
