His best position on film is wing/H back/full back. He knocks 1 or 2 guys down.
If the qb is just gonna hand the ball off… it is essentially 10 on offense versus 11 on defense. This kid knocks down 2 guys and makes it 10 versus 9.
if its another WA 1.5 star, 2 star, then not interested.
If its a WA 2.5 star to 2.75 star to 3 star to 3.25 star to 3.5 star to 3.75 star to 4 star NON FSP, Tracy Ford player, then ok. Coach them up, develop them.
If its another WA 1.5 star, 2 star, OR another 2.5 star from FSP, Tracy Ford, then pass, please recruit So Cal please.

athletes are athletes. Its another problem with places like FSP and 7 on 7s - kids specialize to the point of diminishing their value.
Doba made his living off of taking guys like this and making them playmakers on defense, and if memory serves he had a pretty good track record of putting competitive defenses on the field. We haven't had a sideline-to-sideline LB since Mizell, it'd be nice to have one again.

And Paul Wulf took a lot of the same WA 1.5 star, 2 star, 2.5 star, NR Not Rated no stars, recruits like a Wil Derting searching for that diamond in the rough, under the Radar, as Doba did, and where did it get him? 9-40.
Now to be fair Wulf was probably not as good at coaching up, developing as Doba was.
Also Doba wasnt that good either, as Doba averaged 5.5 wins per season. So Doba doing what he did, didnt work out that well for him either.
Just freaking pass on WA 1.5 star, 2 star, recruits, whether they are FSP or Not, and only take the occasional 2.5 star to 2.75 star NON FSP.
And take the occasional WA 3.25 star, to 3.5 star, to 3.75 star to 4 star, if, when can get one.
Otherwise MOVE ON from WA after a cursory pass thru of getting what can, should get, and MOVE ON to SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
Thats how Erickson, Price, Leach, SUCCESSFUL WSU coaches did it.
Oh and BTW Doba never took 1.5 star, 2 star, 2.5 stars from FSP, Tracy Ford, even tho Tracy Ford BAD MOUTHED Doba, WSU for not taking his 1 5 star, Whitworth kids.
Also how is this newest recruit rated? How many stars?

my idea was that he looks to be a great athlete and we should use him where he'd have the best opportunity to excel, where ever that might be. I will say that he does not appear to have the size or frame to be a OL, ie his levers aren't long enough.
Most recent projections put him at 2.51/5. He said in the interview he did not work with FSP but used their workout programs to get some of Fords great workouts in to gain that FSP edge. Looks like a comparable for him is walk-on Carl Carleson from Lewiston 2 star unranked unfortunately.
I will never understand the people who are so caught up in the star system..A 2 star and A 3 star player are not that different depending on what you are asking them to do .. A 3 star might be a better recruit for you then a 4 star… A coach who doesn’t recruit to their system won’t be around long… What does it matter if I have a 4 star pro style QB if that’s not my offense..
You may want to Get the 3 star line backer who runs a 10 second hundred if you constantly play the DL’s to stuff the inside run, not the 4 star LB who stuffs the run..
Also, we continually bring up training programs as if we should not be taking players from them… When every single college coach in the country is constantly calling these programs attempting to establish relationships to funnel players their way… You are a coach who is soon to be fired if you decide you aren’t going to take players from the largest training program in your region..??
I get the dislike but at least be reasonable… Evaluate athletes on an individual basis and if you like what you see and think they fit your system then you go get them no matter where in the hell they are..
The best recruiters in the country are so highly coveted because they have the established relationships with these programs.. Doesn't matter if it’s AAU, 7on7, or travel baseball.. You cast aside those relationships at your own peril..
Don’t think there is one. I think there is only 2 stars. If a kid gets a offer they’re automatically a 2 star. This kid is a project, but Cooper seems to doing well with DEs from here and at Wyoming.
It’s new rating system made up here on these very boards that takes into account not only talent/production and location, but geography relative to stars and friendship status with FSP and Paul Wulff & associates.

Yes he hasnt done that to Rolo yet. But he has done that to Doba, Leach, WSU in the Past.

Tracy Ford absolutely flipping blows and then some, but he was literally still in college when Bill Doba was the HC at WSU. He didn't say anything about Doba, and he had almost no interaction with Wulff. It was with Leach when he started whining about Leach not taking his low-end players.
Guess the person that posted on Wazzu Watch that Tracy Ford has been in Business for about 13 to 15 to 17 years was wrong.
And someone on Twitter said that Tracy Ford has been in Business for about 13 to 15 to 17 years.
If that was right, it would have been possible for Tracy Ford to trash Doba, WSU in 2007, an or Praise Wulf for taking his 1.5 star kids, in 2008 to 2011.
And there was a tweet that said he shiited on Doba, Praised Wulf, Shiited on Leach, WSU.
Now maybe they are wrong, an or maybe I misunderstood, misread, misremember.
In any case, if your right, I stand corrected.
I think he started FSP around six or seven years ago. He did some other strength coaching in the area before that, but I don't think he really started trashing/dealing with WSU until Leach. The first time I personally saw his name was after the 2019 Apple Cup, when he attacked Leach for not taking WA players.

That's how I remember it. Didn't know if a new system was created from 1-5, by figured it was a made up system. Still am interested in who Miks 1.5 recruits are.
YOU'VE GOT IT COMPLETELY WRONG. A 1.5 RATING IS A GUY WHO IS A HIGH 1 OR A LOW 2. BUT YOU ARE CORRECT THAT SOMETIMES IT'S SOMETHING BETWEEN A 1 AND A 5 STAR.
Please correct me if I am wrong but I remember this to be half of the story. If I am correct he only did this after Leach made the proclamation that he didn’t need Washington kids to succeed. That he was focused on California and Texas. It never had anything to do with the level of player. It was more about Leach’s strategy of not recruiting WA kids.. I for one see nothing wrong with that. That’s what he is supposed to do!! Now that doesn’t absolve him from being a douche bag if he is one, but I have yet to hear of any specifics where he has been one. Lots of endless rambling about what a poster said somewhere else. Leach took some WA kids,its just that he didnt take any of FSP's, Tracy Ford's 1.5 star, 2 star, whitworth level kids, as he only took 3 star, 3.5 star, kids that had Pac 12/P5 offers, that he thought were Pac 12/P5 level kids.
This means that altho he Leach didnt take hardly any WA kids, he did take a couple, few, some.
But even if he didnt take any, that's no reason for Tracy Ford to TRASH WSU, LEACH, in public, and turn parents, teachers, coaches, politicians, against WSU, Leach, and try to turn up the HEAT on WSU, Leach, tried to make WSU, Leach look bad, etc, to try to FORCE Leach, WSU to take his Whitworth level kids.

The tweet that was posted, linked had some sort of CREDIBLE semi local semi famous, known person, coach, parent, teachers, player, somebody in Tracy's business who called out Tracy Ford for his SLEAZINESS, and linked to credible semi proofs.
You really need to accept that I, others, WE ARE NOT MAKING THIS UP, PULLING STUFF OUT OF OUR BUTS.

There is advocating…. then there is influencing… if the only kids this “trainer” pushes towards WSU arent Pac 12 kids, who does that help??? And when WSU passes on the kids he pushes…. what happens then??? Do you now have a “trainer” talking shit about WSU??? That isnt helpful.
For this “trainer” to make $ he needs the credibility of P5 coaches coming to him asking about kids. If he doesnt have that, he is out of business. So he manufactures a way to get in between coaches and players and use his influence to help sway decisions. No thanks.
AAU basketball is corrupt. Kids are bought and paid for. I would prefer to see that NOT happen in the Pac 12.
Remember Chip Kelly at Oregon getting into trouble with the NCAA over his relationship with some random guy in Texas that pushed kids to UO???? That’s why I would advise WSU coaches to walk away from “trainers” like this.
Advocating for your kids is one thing, and a Ok thing to do. And there is a wrong way and a right way to do that.
The right way is asking, encouraging others to take your kids, telling why the kids should be taken, etc.
The Wrong way is SHIITING on Colleges, coaches that not taking your kids.
The wrong way is FALSELY ACCUSING, LYING, annd FALSELY saying that a college, program isnt taking any of the home state's kids, when they have taken home state kids, just not taken their kids because they were not P5 kids.
The wrong way is turning parents, teachers, coaches, Politicians against the college, coach
The right way is asking the coach why he isnt taking his particular kids. Asking what he and his kids have to be, do to be taken. Asking if his 1.5 star, etc, kids, can walk on, earn scholly's.
Also its not like WSU, Leach, kicked his kids to the curb with no options. Whitworth College, EWU, CWU, University of Idaho, Univ of Montana, Montana St, and many such other places would give scholly's to his 1.5 star kids, give them a good education.
Advocating for your 1.5 star kids appropiatly is ACCEPTING when colleges, coaches dont take your 1.5 star kids, because they are not P5 kids, and then advocating that Whitworth, EWU, etc, offer, give your kids a scholly and a awesome education.
But the TRUTH is, he doesnt care that his 1.5 star kids are getting athletic scholly's and amazing education from some good Big Sky colleges, like EWU.
No All Tracy Ford Cares about is getting his 1.5 star non mountain west, non P5, non Pac 12, Whitworth D3 level kids to WSU, because WSU is the only P5 school that might take them(UW, etc, wont), and not to EWU, etc, where they belong, will get a awesome opportunity there, so that he can BRAG, BUILD HIS REPUTATION of himself, his business, of how he gets his kids big time schollys to big time P5, Pac 12 schools, like WSU, so that he will MAKE MORE MONEY.

It both doesnt help WSU and it doesnt help his kids.
It might seem like it helps his 1.5 star kids to goto WSU.
But the reality, truth is that those 1.5 star kids are better served going to a EWU over WSU.
1. They will get more playing time at EWU over what they would get at WSU.
2. They will likely either forever sit on bench at WSU, or end up transfering from WSU to a EWU anyways.
3. A EWU education can be just as good or better then a WSU education
4. At EWU, because they get more playing time there, that more playing time might develop them, give them the chance to transfer to a P5 college, with a chance to maybe make the NFL(That has happened more then people think), a chance that they might probably have never ever had, had they as a 1.5 star, gone to WSU, and not gotten enough play time to develop.
So by Tracy Ford pushing his 1.5 star kids to WSU, he might be hurting his kids. Also if nothing else, his 1.5 star kids might get HURT, INJURED easier at WSU then P5/Pac 12 kids would at WSU, so him pushing 1.5 stars to WSU is probably not good for his kids either.
But like I said, he Tracy Ford either doesnt think about that, at best, an or doesnt really care about his kids, and only cares about his money, reputation of sending, getting even his 1.5 star, Whitworth College level to WSU a P5, Pac 12 college.
Do 1 or 1.5 star kids even exist anymore? There's the occasional 2-star kid which sometimes include the likes of Andre Dillard, but I don't even think they go below 2 stars.
Leach didn't make a definitive statement like that. He was not opposed to recruiting Washington players, he just more or less said he wasn't going to waste his time, energy, and money recruiting players that were never going to commit to WSU anyway. Tony Bennett said the same thing, he just said it tactfully, so nobody remembers.
