Bringing the 15 yr old w me…used to go to stubblefields pregame as was fun spot and kid friendly, but that’s shut down now and Valhalla isn’t letting U21 on saturdays.. Never been a big field house guy and seems like high probability of long waits at other spots. If you are open for some walk-in delight, I’ll bring booze of choice! Bout time a few of you saw my ugly face after all these years of talking shit anyways.

Man...I almost bought a plane ticket on Tues to come up...then I saw the 20 degree weather. Wish I would have made the trip...but I'll be there in spirit and will be doing a little of this

Also, Shakers is closed?

Thats what it was when I was in school...then it became either Stubblefields or Mikes...can't remember in what order.

My last semester there, the turned the basement into stripper poles. It was great.

Was Shakers just after the Golden Goose?
Still have fond memories of walking over to the Goose and having an empty gallon milk bottle filled with beer for $5 🍺

Yeah it’s shut down. Covid casualty. It was shakers when I was in school and it was a fun spot. Stubblefields was a great pregame spot when I brought the kids before as they had an area kids could be in but still basically sports bar atmosphere. Valhalla kinda has the same thing but they only allow 21+ on football game days. Great pregame family spot for basketball though their Goldrush wings are killer.

Shakers opened in '90 and closed in 2005. When was the golden goose there? I like the idea of milk jugs of beer for $5. Should be a mandate

That sucks...next thing you know, Cougar Country will be shut down.

Actually I was following the drama of Cougar Country a few years ago. Not sure what became of it.

I do know the Coug lets in minors until 8 pm I believe...but they may change that on game day.

The Golden Goose was there in the 80’s. Not sure when it opened but it had to have become Shakers.

So many cheap beer options back then. Wooden nickels. Dimers. Ladies Night at the Coug. Buck Pitcher night at Rats. Fish Bowls at Gambinos.

The list goes on and on. Case of Lucky Lagers was $6.54. Sport Pack was $3.99.

Anybody remember these guys?

The Goose opened in 85.

Dimers were deadly. Wooden Nickels stacking cups to the roof was a good day’s work

And a pox on your house for omitting Rustys. Not fancy Campus Commons Rusty’s. Legit downtown dive bar Rusty’s

My Office for a plate of Gizzards, Alaskan Ambers, and plenty of TV screens is how I roll in Pullman.
Rats is now a church and in memory we bought a sixer of Rainier and toasted the steeple.

85 makes sense. Didn’t turn 21 until beginning of 86 so was limited to Moscow until then.

no love for Rico's downtown? Or Pete's? Don't forget fishbowls at Gambinos! Last but not least Shermers! (honorable mention - Rancho Viejo for Mexican Flags)

All good haunts.

I randomly became friends with one of the daughters of one of those joints in Seattle. She is a lot younger...but we became friends and had lot of stories to tell.

For some reason, I got an AMEX card as a student...and put quite a few meals on that card at Rancho. Good food. Great Mexican Flags.
