Wondering why the delay in announcing/introducing Arbuckle as our next OC? He's been on campus for a few days now. There are a lot of quality offensive players in the portal that would likely be interested in playing in his system. I'm sure there is a process including background checks, among other things but let's announce his hire and generate some interest in WSU football, especially amongst those who are looking for a new home.

Arbuckle and Maile are following recruits in twitter and their banners say Western Kentucky and Boise state. School starts next week. These hires should have been made and announced asap.

Mason Miller is going to be let go soon, there’s your O line coach. Once you get him, the players will follow.
There are 4 positions that are the jewels in coaching. OL, QB, DT and CB. Everyone else is just a guy.
Mason Miller will have a job before he is fired.
It’s amazing what he did with the o line at MSU. Some left over scrap heap guys were really solid against top 15 defenses. Dickert had better be offering him the kitchen sink. MSU is the Hindenburg and the titanic rolled into one

Two 4-star QB's each with over 3 years of eligibility have hit the portal
And that is only this week and the Portal action is just getting warmed up now that the players coaches/recruiters are landing other places.

This will be a great story if this young man is successful out of the gate.

WSU has already got 1 semi top rated transfer portal OL, and 1 semi top rated JC transfer OL, and have about 4,5,6 HS OL recruits, and are trying to get 1 more either Transfer Portal or JC OL.
That's all WSU either needs, or can reasonable do, and will probably be enough.
I'd like to see at least 1,2 transfer portal or JC transfer WR.
And 1 more Transfer portal or JC LB
And 1 more Transfer Portal or JC DB, Nickel
And 1 more Transfer Portal or JC DT
And 1 Transfer Portal or JC DE
1 Transfer Portal, JC TE.
And possibly a QB from the portal. Arbuckle picked up a D2 guy at Western Kentucky and ended up with one of the best offenses in the country last year. He obviously knows what he wants in a QB and is able to identify that person. I think there still some pretty highly touted QB's available.
Maybe 1 more Transfer Portal QB, If Arbuckle gets 1 of the 2,3 of MSU's 4 star QB's, in addition to the Scholly, 3 star CA QB, that Dickert got, an or if that player hasn't signed, replacing that player, QB, with either 1 of MSU's QB's, or with another QB gotten by Arbuckle.
Got to be careful tho. WSU is down to Cam, Ward, and Mateer. Can't bring in too many QB's, and having Mateer, Cam transferring out, and then having NO DEPTH in the QB room behind the new QB's gotten by WSU, because 1,2 injuries on that kind of NO DEPTH QB room, could mean only 2,3,4 wins.
It's my understanding if I am right, that since teams are losing 17 to 33 players to the transfer portal, that the transfer portal or transfers are being allowed to happen either longer, an or about 1/4, 1/3, 2/5 the year, etc, so that teams that have lost about 13 to 39 players to the transfer portal can replace those losses to the Portal.
Xavier Ward has transferred out, I think. So the QB room is rather thin and could use at least one transfer/portal guy. Would love to get one of those MSU guys that are in the portal.

Wisconsin got Tanner Mordecai from SMU so hopefully they aren't really looking for another QB.
The QB room has Cam, Mateer, Emmet Brown, a Walk On, and the HS 3 star scholly CA QB recruit, that Dickert got to replace Sam Leavitt, and the Walk On that Dickert got to replace Sam Leavitt,
If WSU gets 1 more Transfer or JC QB(hopefully 1 of MSU's QB's, that would be 7 total QB's in QB room.
If WSU gets 1 more good transfer or JC QB to go-to 8 QB's in QB room, then not only would it not be needed but could cause Cam and Mateer to leave, and then would only have 2 transfer QB's and Emmet Brown which would be terribly bad untried, in experienced, etc, BAD QB depth that 1,2 injuries could cause WSU to have only 2,3,4 wins.

WSU only needs 1 transfer or JC QB at most not 2 transfer or JC QB's.
And Arbuckle will probably get either 1 transfer or JC QB or 1 of MSU's QB's instead at most.
If they're smart, they will stay to have the opportunity to play in Arbuckle's offense. I wouldn't think both Ward and Mateer would leave if we were to get one of the MSU guys but maybe one would. That wouldn't be terrible for us.
I also do not think they would leave if Arbuckle either gets 1 of MSU's QB's OR a transfer portal OR JC QB.
But that's just 1 more good QB.
If WSU gets 2 more good either transfer portal or JC QB's instead of only 1 more both Cam, and Mateer could leave, leaving only 2 Transfer Portal OR JC QB's, and Emmet Brown, instead of 1 more Transfer or JC QB AND Cam, and Mateer.
Getting only 1 more Transfer portal or JC QB is, would be better then getting 2 since getting 2, instead of only 1 would make the QB room have 8 QB's, too many QB's.
WSU only needs 6,7 QB's in QB room instead of 8 in QB room.
I would be surprised if they take more than 1 QB and I would expect 1 or 2 to leave.
