I dont think we win, but could see us losing in a real close game.
Competitive would be great. It may be enough to get me to make the trek to Pullman next week to see them take on uw.

I don't think we take care of the ball particularly well. In fact, it is the one most annoying part of Elleby's game. He too frequently fastbreaks and loses control of himself and the ball, or lets loose with a wildly erratic, uncatchable pass. The guards are also fairly adept at the same manuevers. There are always 3 keys to being competitive. Shooting the ball well, taking care of the ball, and rebounding. If you can win 2 of those 3 you will be in the ball game. Historically we sometimes shoot pretty well, and often take care of the ball, but we seldom keep opponents off the boards. Therefore we have to shoot well and take care of the ball to have a chance. Against ASU we did all 3.
Not likely we do all 3 against AZ, but another good rebounding effort would give me a lot of hope for improvement. Giving up a bunch of offensive boards is more damaging than 4 or 5 uncontested layins from defensive breakdowns.
It very likely was a blind squirrel-finding-a-nut moment. The problem for WSU is that it can't play six guys the entire game. Eventually substitutions must be made, and that's when things go south. However, there are times Kent will sub guys out when they're playing well. It's kind of like back in the day when Bonehead would call a timeout after a nice run. It's usually the opposing coach who calls TO in those situations.
