This really should be a good crowd but due to the last 2 negatives I’m guessing 24k butts in seats. I’d guess last week was 19k actual butts in seats. There was a good turn out by students but 2/3 empty on alumni side.

Well...again...it is a college campus. It is a college game. As people have pointed out it is on TV. But for me the important people, the students will be at the game. Others who may choose not to go, the game will go on without them.

Homecoming best attended game of the season so far. This will be better- 30,000 at least.

Utah state looked like the best crowd (butts in seats) to me but I wasn’t at that one and TV angles could have played a part in that. There was a lot of empty seats last weekend.

Was it? I think more than a few students couldn’t set their alarms in time to wake up for the game. Student section was light for a homecoming on a nice day.

The student section was one of the best I have ever seen for the USU game. Certainly the best on week one. Since then it has been bad.

USU was the highest reported attendance of the year at 24,900. OSU and USC were both mid 24K (pretty pathetic).

Tickets have sold at a better rate for this one than the previous largely due to family weekend (has had the best ticket sales since they went on sale). Between that and the weather, we should be more like 27-30K.

The whole Pac is struggling with attendance this year. COVID has really expanded the distance between the Pac and the other P5 leagues IMO.

Student tickets for this weekend are sold out.

I still expect many of the south side to be dressed as empty seats.

The number of Coug fans will be modestly increased.

OSU travels much better than Stanford, that will mostly offset the Coug increase.

25,500

Stanford doesnt travel very well for their home games.

Expectations for attendance can no longer be compared to years past. COVID changed all that.

It's dumb as outdoor transmission is such an infinitesimal risk factor that football games are safer than Sunday dinner - but, well, fear narrative and segregation.

And math. People just aren't good at calculating probability.

I never quite understood last fall why the pros ($$$) and the colleges ($$) could play games but the high schools (-$) couldn't?

Oh wait... I think I just answered my own question.

It’s all about the Benjamins.

And I dare anyone to prove me wrong.

Sadly it’s a combination of people on one side not wanting to be unnecessarily frisked and people on the other side not wanting to be in crowds. Sucks and nobody wins. On the bright side, at least there are fans, sure as hell beats last “season”.
