I remember looking for quarterbacks in the JC ranks in PW's first year and running across Bryan Braman who was from Shadle Park. I found out he was a really good athlete and posted his Hudl film. Biggs thought he looked pretty good and then Ed was wondering why we should compete against West Texas State for athletes:) Anyway, he went on to play for a few years in the NFL. This is his famous helmetless tackle.

Well, he was apparently not a very good quarterback since he was converted to OL and then to DE.....for whatever that's worth. Frankly, I'm not even sure how he got into the NFL. He had an amazing 11 tackles as a senior at West Texas A&M. Dude must have had an amazing motor and impressed the coaches at a camp as a free agent.

I was checking out the quarterback at Long Beach State...not Braman. He didn't have the grades and got into a little trouble at West Texas. He was a good athlete though.

You know me I am a stickler for stars and what other schools offer...

I see. For a guy who played in the league, there is almost no information on him and no stats. I was wondering how he went from being a QB at Long Beach to playing Defensive End...but you said he was a good athlete....so I was like, "ok".

track stats? Ummmmmmm.......ok.

Braman's NFL career is better than Bruce's career when you look at what they've done in the league. Although nobody remembers him for anything but that one helmetless hit, he's appeared in 97 games and has 56 tackles. Bruce appeared in one NFL game and didn't get a tackle. When you look up Braman on the internet, it's hard to find anything about the guy. You look up "Mkristo Bruce WSU" and you get 7 pages of links. It's just amazing that someone who's been in the league as long as he was is nearly invisible when it comes to his career achievements, college in particular. It says a lot about how hard it is to get noticed if you aren't playing for a Power 5 team. Kudos to Braman for making it.

He has a bunch of articles on him. He followed his QB from Shadle to LBCC. Josh Powell (the QB).. was 6-3 215 and doing well at LBCC. You check out their stats and Braman and Stephen Burton jump off the page. You check out their roster and find Braman's from Shadle and Burton's 6-1 220 WR. You watch Powell's Hudl and Burton stands out. You watch Burton and Braman's Hudl and they look very athletic. Burton originally gets an offer from Oklahoma, but doesn't qualify academically and then goes onto West Texas with Braman. That's the thing when you check out JC players is that you never know their academic status...prereq's..etc.
Another article on Braman and female teammate who played on the WSU track and volleyball team.
