I was pissed when they mandated seat belts.Despite what we moan about on this board, there are a huge population of people and especially younger people that give a sh*t about this (Rolos vax status). I would wager a lot even like it. I would bet when I was 18 I would be against it too. Will be interesting.
We lost out to liberty 😂
WSU needs lead guitarists and linemen. He was a base player too.
Liberty University finished last year ranked #17 in the nation and has been in a bowl game in each of the last 2 seasons (and won them)....so I'll give them some credit. Their coach, Hugh Freeze, may not be the most honest guy in the profession, but he's been a winner at Ole Miss and now Liberty.....and has a reputation of being a good recruiter. Are you joking? Are are you seriously factually saying that WSU/Rolo lost out on a football recruit to Liberty College?
If not a joke. If serious, then that's just as bad/embarrassing as Wulf's recruiting.
Signing the contract regarding not having sex outside of marriage would have been a deal breaker for me.Liberty University finished last year ranked #17 in the nation and has been in a bowl game in each of the last 2 seasons (and won them)....so I'll give them some credit. Glad Cougar
Is any contract in CFB adhered to these days?Signing the contract regarding not having sex outside of marriage would have been a deal breaker for me.
What's next? Rolo starts competing with Univ of Idaho, EWU, Montana, Portland St, CWU, Long Beach St, PODUNK Mid Majors, FCS, etc, and not only competes against them for recruits, but loses?
Doesn't matter if they are North Dakotah State National Champs, or if Portland State, Long Beach State, Liberty, etc, PODUNK Mid Major, FCS, had 1,2,3,4 awesome football seasons.
A P5, should not have to compete with them for recruits, and if a P5 does compete with them for recruits, they shouldn't lose, and if if a P5 does lose a recruit to them it's EMBARRASSING.
Football is different then Bball. In Basketball P5 bball programs compete with these colleges all the time for recruits, and lose recruits to them.
NOT IN FOOTBALL, or if it does happen in football, ITS RARE and EMBARRASSING.
Paul WULF competed for recruits with these colleges, and won some and embarrassingly lost some, and look at where it got him, WSU.
Pretty sure the OPTICS of the Rolo saying he is not vaxing may have factored into this.
WSU doesn't need this crap, happening.
Or, Falwell Jr's wife.Is any contract in CFB adhered to these days?
WSU enticed 5 football coaches to break their contracts since you left high school.
Perhaps this contract is non enforceable if you stick to sleeping with your professors at Liberty?
You mean Hugh Freeze or others can point to talk about Rolo getting canned by the same two WSU football blogs that campaigned for Paul Wulff to remain as coach, that the football culture out here isn't about wins and losses?Recruiting can be weird. This recruit's profile shows offers from Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Mississippi State, and Arkansas, in addition to WSU.
In a vacuum, of course it's embarrassing as hell to lose out to Liberty in a fairly high-profile way. This is a Louisiana kid who stayed closer to home, though, at a team that finished in the top 20 last year and with a coach with recruiting connections all over the South. Sucks and embarrassing but it could be worse.
BTW, on recruiting more generally, trying to frame Rolo's vaccine status in simple terms misses the point. It's not about whether a 17-year old kid cares if the coach has a vaccine or not. He probably doesn't care. It's about what the parents think and, aside from that, the negative PR and messaging associated with it and Rolo being on the hot seat due to it. If I'm a recruit, I may not care at all whether my coach takes a vaccine -- I'm not even going to be at the school for more than a year, most likely, even if I did care -- but I care a great deal if you're asking me to move across the country to play for a coach about whom there is meaningful talk of him getting canned.
I get the feeling this kid is more of a baseball player anyway. Good enough to play both in college, better at football but loves baseball more. He'll probably choose at some point but for now he's gonna try both. You mean Hugh Freeze or others can point to talk about Rolo getting canned by the same two WSU football blogs that campaigned for Paul Wulff to remain as coach, that the football culture out here isn't about wins and losses?
