LOL

Was skimming their AllBuffs website, or whatever its called, and that was the top topic - our "Cougar Lair" was some how disrespecting them or something. They even whined about us considering them douchie fans (can confirm though from Nebraska Cornhusker buddy, as well as Wisconsin Badger buddy, and buddys that have attended games in Boulder - all have history dealing with these cats).

Jeez they need to lighten up (that knee jerk reaction definitely reinforces the douchie comments). One good season and suddenly they are now world beaters? WSU knows their pain, and understands their joy. They need to relax and enjoy the ride while it lasts....

Right. I referenced this site yesterday. They feel The Buffs walks on water, and frankly don't take us seriously.

Granted, these are fans, but overconfidence also can trickle down to the team level, too.

You and Colorado should schedule a game or something.

Haha, classic. Maybe we can all meet them out behind the bleachers, too, since it's so critical whether a few dozen people on a message board take the other team seriously enough. For what it's worth, I sure as hell take them seriously. Very good defense and do enough on offense. They're legit.

I take them very seriously.

They lost to the only two good teams they've played, and they are about to lose to the third.

I've seen Falk pick apart the best the P12 has to offer for 2 years. When he is on, he's on. He'll lean heavily on Marks and if they are clicking they will make quick work of the CU defense - that isn't a slight, its college football. The offenses are always ahead of the defenses. Not only that, but they are hanging their "best passing D" hat on having played who? The 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th passing O's in the conference, and Colo St and Idaho St. The best passer they have faced dropped 358 yards and 3 tds on them, just sayin'.

They ARE a good team. The CAN beat us. They play with a TON of emotion, as evidenced by the UCLA game. My hope is that we can get a few early scores and get into their heads and have them rely on their emotion instead of their talent.

That being said, I think if we get a good (or better) performance out of Falk and our D can avoid giving up more than 2 big plays we win the game, 42-24.

I've got it covered--I'm going to send them some flowers and homemade cookies to assuage their oh-so delicate feelings that us mean Coug fans have so cruelly and maliciously injured. Shame on you all!

I am sure that the teams take each other seriously. The message board couch potatoes- not so much. Let the teams play it out on the field. Then have the respective, inebriated and out of shape message board denizens do their thing behind the bleachers. Nor sure which fight would be the more interesting of the two but one would definitely have an edge in amusement.

Looks like you've been sending them to that kid in your sig

I'm also worried about the altitude of this game. Would be nice to get a couple fresh sets of legs back on the DL this week.

I know when I go back now its an issue, but when I was younger and in shape it wasn't at all. Hell, I got altitude sickness at the summit of Pikes Peak ffs; that's never happened to me before, but I digress.

They get oxygen on the sideline, right?

I hear they are practicing at Steptoe Butte all week to prepare for the altitude

I only duel in the 7Eleven parking lot after school.

And I agree. Colorado will be the toughest game so far.

In 2003, CU fans were the absolute definition of "douchie". My wife had to use the bathroom while we were heading back to our car and some guys tried to pick a fight with me while I was just standing there not talking to anyone. Later on, walking down Pearl Street, another group of a-holes were laying on the crap.

They were much friendlier in 2011, but since that was the honeymoon year, I'm not sure if it's meaningful.

Considering how bad the Cougs are getting clowned by the playoff rankings, I find it interesting that CU fans are crying for respect. Cougs were disrespected big time today with that crap and I hope they show up in boulder with a chip on their shoulder

I will find out how they are. We are going to Boulder for the game so I'm hoping that they are still the friendlier version of Buff fans. I did decide to drive my truck instead of my car just in case someone wants to be rude to a Coug fan.

I know that CU is playing very well this season. They have some very good players particularly in their secondary that will be a big challenge for us . With the loss of River it is going to make it that much more of a challenge for the Cougs.

It is possible that we jump on them and keep it rolling because as BleedCrimson stated they have lost two games to good teams. WSU is also a good team so we may beat them and it could be by a big score.

On the other hand CU is competent on offense and a pretty effective defense has been developed by the DC Leavitt who is a very good coach. Watching their defensive confidence and improved performance over the past two seasons has been remarkable.

The downside for Mike Leach is his track record against CU is not good. He has lost more than he has won looking back at his time in TT and WSU and this was against some bad to mediocre CU teams. That should not make a difference but it is funny how some teams just have your number. That can change ( See ASU for us) but my hunch is this game will be a very big challenge.

If we get the running game involved early I think it will help Falk and our receiver a great deal. CU will want to make us one dimensional by taking away the run, so I hope Luke is patient enough to take what they do give us, but not give up on the running game.

Wish I was going to this game, it is a great place to watch a college game.

Go Cougs
