The level of insecurity and pettiness by Cougfan(s) (sic) since last night is really impressive. Sad but impressive.
Would be much better if WSU simply put a comparative competitive squad on the floor instead of running smack on the twittersphere when a perennial power loses.
Better to show it on the hardwood like during the Bennett years.

I WOULD much more rather have a team that could beat the zags like a drum. However, just like happened in Puget Sound, the local paper has their heads so far up the asses of the local team that they function porely as the mutts/zags full time propaganda ministers. It has turned me from someone that doesn't give a hoot about the other team into someone that actively roots for them to lose. No apologies for that.
Talk to Bill Moos and his buddy hire for driving the Cougs into the nether regions of KenPom ratings.
Pat Chun should be able to broker a Kennel/Beasley/Arena deal.
Or should we ask our Idaho Vandal friends about getting big timed?
Personally, I don't feel like I'm being petty or insecure. I simply don't like Gonzaga or its coach. I'm pleased UConn drilled them last night. I'd feel that way even if I wasn't a Cougar fan.

Blame the conference for idaho. They aren’t allowing teams to play teams like Idaho.
It should be a home and home and nothing less.
Gonzaga is in a conference too that requires strength of schedule.
Idaho would agree, too, as they have for 100+ years. Home and home.
I was actually rooting for them last night. It didn’t take long to realize UConn was either a terrible matchup, much better team, or both. Similar to the way Baylor slapped them around from start to finish a couple years ago.
I root for the zags for the friends and family who live around me who are zags fans. I can agree with other posters though that their hard core fans are annoying, and there’s a stench of arrogance in their program that’s off putting.
Kinda hard to do this when our fans and donors are lining up to give money to GU
This hasn't been an issue for several years now. A win in Pullman this year was a Quad 1 win. It's all a BS play by Gonzaga to not have Coug fans show up in their arena dressed as Coug fans. They love it when they come to games dressed as GU fans.
For further evidence, see the GU women's team dropping WSU from the schedule.
Go ahead and present evidence of that. Don't know a single Coug to whom that applies other than ticket purchases for business purposes. Never in my life have heard of a Coug donating to GU over WSU athletics/university.

Well you would be wrong, which of course is normal. A friend of mine who graduated from WSU is a GU donator and a supporter of there athletics and there University.
And business purposes would yield you many, many more.
Not that your point isn't well taken about state-of-affairs at WSU. Frankly the AD should not schedule them in WBB unless its a 2 for 1, and the same in Baseball. GU ducked the WBB team this year, bitched mightly about there seed and got bounced early. Clearly they were seeded too high.
I could care less if we play them in any sport, ever. But we do the same to EWU and Idaho, its just the way things are in seems in Sports.

And I completely agree, it's on WSU to fix this. Not taking GU seriously in any sport is a cultural problem in Pullman and no one seems to give a rip about it. But at the same time, any WSU grad who fanboys another school can piss off.

Both could be true. I know the first statement is fact.
As for 'fanboying', that's not my deal. My deal is recognizing what has been established at GU against all odds. Haven't been in McCarthy for a GU game since the Baynes days.
And most certainly, as a WSU grad I'm in no position to go into flaming tweet mode seconds after GU loses an Elite 8 game. We've been in exactly one of those.
That kind of behavior is petty and just gives Zags more ammo to look down their noses at WSU bball.
Would much rather it's done on the floor. Can't imagine the egos of WSU ADs ever got in the way of making that happen.
