He is a 63 SG/PG from the small town of Maize KS. He is rated as a 2 star but i think under rated. He has offers from Southern Illinois,Nebraska and the cougs, He has good athleticism, major hops and is a good shooter. He averaged 18 pts a game last year. Others have mentioned him but i just took a look at him.He has a non stop motor and is a very good prospect.Another under rated recruit is 6'7 200 pd Keshad Johnson who was offered in June.

I like Grill a lot. Under the radar type who can ball a little. Gonna be hard to get him with Nebraska jumping into the mix and offering yesterday.

Caleb Grill s recruiting is heating up Now Bradley and Texas Tech have offered him. The coug coaches seem to be doing a great job in finding good players early on. One hopes that they have established a relationship with these players as their recruiting heats up/

Looks like offers out to many solid prospects. Its always win a few, lose a lot in recruiting. In this case a few might be enough

Grill committed to South Dakota St.

Illustrates the difficulty in recruiting to WSU. A good mid major like SDSU provides a better opportunity for both playing time and March Madness than a P6 school like WSU or Nebraska.

Yup and he turned down Texas Tech also. So he is somewhat an oddity in turning down major schools in better conferences. I guess the Jacks have a good program and he is guaranteed playing time.

It is a strange choice especially turning down TT under Tubby Smith and SMU and Tim Jankovich.

I jusr read where Grill said that SDSU was the only D 1 porgram which started recruiting him prior to his JR year So the early contact and relationship building is very important to some recruits.

Or, he lacks the academics to enroll anywhere else? This has all the tell-tale signs we've seen many times before, but maybe he's solid academically and is just really loyal to his first school.

We need a Fall class that overall is another step up. Elleby was a really good fall signing but a fall class of 1 is a problem unless you just don't have the room. By my count we have 4 to give. We all know the spring drill of players transferring. I think you need to sign at least 3 targets in the fall to call it a success with likely 2 or 3 more to give in the spring. If you sign a JC in the fall they better be a game-changer.
