Can someone......

They all have "potential" I saw where Kent mentioned that "they beat us regularly in practice" ?? I do not know if this just hype or if there is any truth to it. Remember that these games against "bottom feeders" are televised and seen by potential recruits. Kent has three scholarships to still give out for this coming year.

I can now see four viable pieces for next season (Flynn, Daniels, Franks and Pollard). EK really needs a solid big to replace Hawkinson and some more shooters. The loss of the speedy, heady Ike will be felt. He has slowly become a steadier, solid force this season. Is there a decent big among the redshirts?

Davante Cooper, a 6-11, 240-pound center from Tyler CC, who had offers from Tennessee, Tulane, Oklahoma State, Purdue, and Oregon State, is coming in. He averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds a game. I'm assuming he's a step quicker than Clifford and Hawkinson.
Arinze Chidom, 6-9, is redshirting this season.

Cooper should be a solid, not great addition. He is quicker and a much better defender. Chidom is a 6'9 200 PF. He has good skills but lacks weight and strength. Perhaps he is gaining weight and strength.? One hopes that Kent can pick up a couple of big men with the three scholarships. He is recruiting a 6.8 juco forward and a couple of quality HS big men, So we will see as basketball recruiting has been tough for Pullman

Chidum still doesnt look any bulkier but is skilled. Acquaah wiil be a big time help if healthy. Hinson is the leading scorer and three point shooter on a good jc team . Also don't discount another year of improvement from Pollard Franks and Daniels

Chidum only needs to add another 10-12 pds, but getting much stronger is the key. An additional 10-12 pds is not much spread over a 6'9 lanky frame and he should be able to do that.He runs the court very well and is a very good passer. Tyler CC is ranked in the top ten juco teams nationally. They have 4 D1 commits on the team They also have a D1 7'0 frosh .prospect who shares playing time with Cooper.

I don't think Cowgill was able to get to 220 when he played. It's not bulk but a little more strength would help. With Cowgill it seemed he just had to get used to playing with contact inside. I don't know whether Chidom has Cowgill's quickness and arm length but I always felt that was more important than some magic number on the scale.

Cowgill was wiry strong. Long and super fast. Don't think we will see that combination again. Best comparison I could make to Chidum is Otis Jennings or Aron Haskins for you old timers. Really smooth with nice stroke and decent ball handling for his size.

I was just going to drop Cowgill's name. :)

Remember the old lookalike threads? I still laugh recalling Cowgill and a skeleton......

Don't forget about Milan Accuah (sorry for spelling)
I expect Acquaah to start alongside Flynn and backup at the point next season. I have always liked the idea of having 2 players who could start at the point on the court at the same time.

Really looking forward to getting him in the lineup. It's too bad from a recruiting standpoint he wasn't able to play this year.
