Carter Skaggs to transfer

Hope he goes to a Div II school. He can light it up from outside but is simply too slow for Div I basketball.
Skaggs interview. Says he is hearing from some mid-major and wants to get closer to home. Also thoughts on this year and moving forward.

We already have a brand x and brand y. Guess it only makes sense to call this new one brand z.
Very interesting interview that gives a glimpse into what was going on this year. Reading between the lines, it makes you wonder if Skaggs and Daniels were as hurt enough to miss all those games or if they were just stuck on the end of the bench. Also interesting that Skaggs expresses all of the same things many of us said when EK was hired....it will be tough for Ernie to try to compete in the conference by playing a style that requires the same level of recruits & athletes he had at UO. We all know Skaggs had defensive shortcomings, but without his hot hand last year (his first year), WSU and Ernie wins two less games in non-conference play.

If the school that takes him likes playing 4 on 5 for defense, it's going to be a perfect match.
He feels he had a great year last year and was better than the players seeing time this year. Hopefully he takes both his strengths and weaknesses into account and finds a good fit. His shooting can help someone. It's also great he's close to finishing his degree.
Skaggs takes a lot of crap about his defense but Franks, kuntz and Elleby get abused on defense way more than Skaggs. Granted they are probably asked to guard tougher assignments but the myth that Carter Skaggs is the problem with our defense is just that a myth. I charted four games and it just didn’t play out. We had no help, no rotation and tried to play defense by reaching in rather than moving our feet and that is simply coaching or a lack there of.
The Carter Skaggs myth originated with one Coug poster who claimed omniscience on all things hoops but concurrently loved EK, despised CS, and was wont to ponitificate ceaselessly about both while attacking any and all who demurred. Since I have henceforth placed said poster on ignore, I will refrain from naming him.
