They say a walk-on guard/small forward. He has a HUDL for football. Plays with Watson (of course headed for GU) and Tommy Lloyds son. Sonneborn seemed like more of a football recruit?

Good for the young man It is also a good deal for Kent s program.I know zero about the young man s abilities but will try and check out his videos.

Good for him. Kind of puzzling. But good to get local kids - even if they’re the third or fourth best player on their high school team.

The kid just wants a chance, I doubt he has the ability but he has the heart and he can contribute to the program in practice . Who knows i could not find any real tapes but he is 6'3 190 with a 32.4 inch JR, He also runs a 4.6 40 so he is an athletic young man. Interesting in that The John Stockton was his AAU coach. People saw him as a football player but his heart is set on PAC 12 basketball i wish him all the luck.

John coached all the current Prep kids. His son Sam is a senior. Many of them have been together since about fourth grade. John added on players as they came up through the age levels.

They lost a kid who was pretty close to as good as Watson after ninth grade - spectacular shooter. Left handed kid. His dad did a year or two as a GU special assistant like Bone did.

Didn’t he have a brother who was a long snapper for the Cougs 3 or 4 years ago?

And, speaking of the 2nd best player on the prep team,Liam Lloyd (Tommy’s son), what would few do if he got an offer from WSU? He has an offer from EWU and is playing pretty well. Few and Lloyd hate WSU.

I watch a highlight and he seems like an interesting player. I wondered the same thing. No love for Kent either. They probably have him walkon at GU.

Having watched G-Prep twice this year I would take either as a walk-on but I wouldn’t consider either as scholarship material at this point. I would be surprised if Loyd’s EWU offer has a scholarship attached. Very good high school player and a great guy to have as a walk-on but probably a D-2 guy. Watson however might be the best player I’ve seen in the GSL certainly top 3. Mt Spokane sophomore Dagenhart might be worth a look before he is done.

Totally agree. The Mt. Spokane kid has a nice game. I haven't watched Prep this year yet but will get to a game after the new year. But have watched/coached against all those kids for a long time.

Lloyd is a weird one. He can stroke it and is long. Just not quite sure whether his game translates to the next level.

But, hell, the local 'experts' are often wrong. This kid couldn't even get a sniff from the CCS staff despite constant pleas. He's dropped 31 on Portland and 39 vs. Portland State this year, too. Saw him play Peyton Pritchard at Oregon to a dead heat heading into their senior year in AAU. Tiny but huge heart - could easily run the point for the Cougs this year.

I was trying to think of any walk-on basketball players who actually came in and eventually earned a scholarship. Randy Green comes to mind. Usually if they're good enough to play at a lower level they transfer out within a year or two.

Charlie Enquist and Will Delorio we’re both walk-on and I believe the both earned scholarships considering both were part time starters

Forgot about Dilorio (who was still working in programming for the Pac 12 Network last I heard). I believe Enquist originally came in on a scholarship with the understanding that it would only be guaranteed for his first year, he got it back after year two.
