Well ESPN is now reporting that Central Michigan is coming to the Sun Bowl to play the Cougs so I take that to be confirmation. Interesting cross-connection with Akey being their defensive coordinator. I'm just glad there is going to be a game. I don't understand why SMU or East Carolina weren't interested or weren't asked but I will take Central Michigan.

What I have read is that If a school reports football season over then it’s over and it disqualifies you.
They had already sent their team home to spend holidays with family. There was no reason for them to get them back to campus and keep them there. My understanding is that it would be virtually impossible for them to get their respective teams back together and to El Paso to play.

Yep. More than a few WSU fans thought Air Force & Colorado State weren't going to be much of a bowl challenge for the Cougars. CMU is probably better than those two teams were....and McElwain is a good coach.

I think the fact there isn't a Mike Leach calling plays to try and burn clock is advantageous to us. Game management and play calling? Advantage Dickert IMO.
