Has a WSU offer.

From Prep Hoops report.

"Chance McMillan, 2019 6-2 G, Red & Black Basketball
Red & Black, a Bay Area program full of players from several private school powers, took a solid College Bound 17u team to the wire on opening night. McMillan, a wiry scoring point guard, was one of the catalysts. Though slight of frame, McMillan maneuvered his way to the basket and made several crafty finishes around the rim. He also canned several deep threes off the catch. The second leading scorer on a quality St. Patricks-St Vincents program, McMillan looks like a player who can become a quality combo guard at the next level, if he can get stronger with his off hand and against pressure, and get physically stronger."

This sounds like it was before he went to prep school. Plays for Oakland Soldiers.

Watched some highlights and he’s also a pretty good athlete. Surprised by his offer list. He seems to have some talent.

He sounds more like the type of recruit which they may have a realistic chance with , The 2 star recruit s who may be overlooked by the bigger schools.I have never heard of Texas A& M Commerce. Recruiting at a level never seen before in Pullman.

1. Again Smith has recruited a Mix of 4 stars, 3 stars, 2 stars.

2. Smith has put out about 15 to 35 to 55 offers out to a Mix of 5 stars, 4 stars, 3 stars, 2 stars with upside, potential.

3. Smith already has 1,2 3 star commits.

While Chance is a 2 star, he is either more, probably more then a 2 star, and has extreme upside, potential.

Chance is 6 foot 2 in, about 170 ish, wiry, semi athletic, semi raw, extremely quick, fast, talented, skilled.

He great 3 point shooter. Good ball handler, slashes to creatively finishes at rim.

Only unknown is how good court vision, passing, assist, etc, but probably at least average at that at worst.

Red/Black, and Oakland Soldiers are, is one of the BEST PREMIERE Basketball teams, factories in the WEST.

Oakland Soldiers is one of the BEST AAU teams in ALL of the entire WEST.

Those 2 teams produce, have 3,4,5 Stars on team. If a player is a NR, a 1,2 star player, they are usually NOT on those 2 teams.

And if a 2 star is on one of those 2 teams, the player usually is BETTER, and usually misevaluated, underrated, late bloomer, etc.

Chance should not be rated, ranked as a 2 star. He should be AT LEAST BE A 3 STAR AT LEAST. He has probably been misevaluated, underevaluated, a late bloomer, etc.

Also wouldnt be suprised if some recruiting services have him as a 3 star, in addition to the recruiting services that apparently have him ranked as a 2 star.

So while Chance is a technical, misevaluated, underevaluated, etc, 2 star, he Chance is, should be a highest ended, best ever 2 star, in history of 2 stars, to low end to mid level to semi high end 3 star, with EXTREMELY HIGH POTENTIAL UPSIDE.

He Chance is NOT, JUST, ONLY a 2 star.

So you can again stop downplaying WSU, Smith's recruits by saying "Only a 2 star, so is probably crap because of that"

Your Wrong, an or downplaying, an or lying.

I dont even watch highlights anymore. I do have a memory though. Mike Harthun ranked higher than Klay going in to senior year. Also Mike Mclaughlin ranked higher than Klay. We came close to getting him over Klay. Patrick Simon was a 4 star, ranked higher than Harmeling, Cowgill and Weaver. Que Johnson was a 4 star ranked higher than Lacy. Royce Woolridge was a 4 star who never had as much impact at WSU as the lesser ranked Ike Iroebu. Going back further, Kelati didnt have another D1 offer.

Conclusion. Its a different world recruiting to WSU, and not all 4 stars, and especially 3 stars are created equal. Being able to recognize upside is the most important attribute of a coach in Pullman.

Kyle Weaver, low 2 star with pretty much no other offers, Pac-10 all conference, gets drafted in the 2nd round of the NBA, plays a couple years there.

Aron Baynes, low 2 star with no other offers that we know of, has turned into an NBA vet.

Klay was a 3 star going into his Senior year, and a 3 star when committed to the Cougs. In fact, if I recall I don't think he was bumped to a 4 star til later in his Senior year, or conclusion of it. He also didn't have too many offers.

That is how I remember it. Klay had some decent offers outside Pac 10, but didnt blow up till he scored 37 in state championship game. Mclaughlin was ranked higher and his name was being mentioned as possible Coug prio to Klay. He never stuck at th e D1 level

There was speculation Baynes had a GU offer but I don't know whether that was ever confirmed. GU plays the game on some recruits of offering on the visit if they know the player is interested and otherwise backing away.

Klay had offers from Michigan, ND, and Gonzaga from what I remember. He really wanted to play in the Pac 10.

Michigan was on him early like WSU, outside of that any other notable offer came late if I recall.
