Any reports from Pullman on how he is doing in practice and warm-ups prior to games?

I know he is a walk-on, but he is known to be a good rebounder. Probably for sure a redshirt this year even as a walk-on.

I was wondering the same thing. I wish I had some information for you.

I'm in the dark on him other than he's there. I don't even remember him playing in pre-season. Anything other than a red shirt wouldn't make sense at this point.

I think the plan from day one was for Chatfield & Sonnenborn (the other walk-on freshman) to redshirt barring a slew of injuries. I like his size and HS rebounding stats....I'm hoping he at least becomes another Charlie Enquist.

Just a quick update. Smith mentioned Chatfield on his weekly radio show. He was a definite redshirt from day one as they work to put some weight on him. Came in just a little over 200 lbs. on his 6-10 frame and is now up over 220 lbs. Smith says he has a great attitude, works hard, has some skills (especially rebounduing) and if he gets strong enough, will be contributing to the team in the future. Definitely in the plans even if he doesn't see a ton of minutes.

Sounds like he is well on the way. Charlie was I believe 230 as a Redshirt Senior. Getting some quality practice time and learning what is required will keep him interested.
