and not get hurt for his NFL draft prospects .

Did we allow him to travel if he indeed was not hurt ?

Was this KJR speculating ot did Chau say he choose to sit out?
It was Puckett, who is a WSU grad. He said he had spoken to several people that Smith has been fully practicing with the team without restrictions for weeks. If that is the case, he asks what reason could there be to not play other than making personal decision to sit out.

Why allow him to practice and why suit him up. What a bunch of BS
Ditto! When a guy quits on you, you immediately cut ties with him. No more practice, no more training table, no more weight and strength workouts in team facilities! All of those things are intended for team members, and once you stop contributing to the team you cease to be a team member.

One has to wonder if he could have made a difference between winning and losing in any of those games. And does he care or feel bad about that-possibly costing his team/teammates wins and a bowl game. I would be plenty pissed off if any teammate of mine pulled that crap!

That seems a little fishy. He’s afraid of getting hurt in a game but isn’t affraid of getting hurt in practice?

Someone mentioned it was a concussion. I’m pretty sure with concussions there’s no practice only gray area, you are either in or out, ie if you are cleared to practice at all, you are cleared to play in a game. It’s a brain injury you are 100% or 0%.

I have no idea what the injury was just what someone posted but if there’s merit to that and he was practicing, sounds like it was a business decision. Sad deal if so, and tough call for coaches. Think coaches will be forced into these decisions more and more going forward.

Spell it out early. You quit, decide not to play, letting your teammates down. You are done. you owe WSu as you are on scholarship and they have been “paying your way”. What a bunch of bs.

I don’t disagree but this is the new norm. NIL and the portal has made this about the players and their pockets, not the teams. Dickert and other coaches have to recruit kids who see themselves in these same situations. If a coach starts booting kids and yanking scholarships because they are looking out for their future interests, gonna be tough to recruit. Coaches will use that against other coaches.

I hate it too, but this is the needle these coaches have to thread now.

I see and understand what you are saying 90. It’s just more reasons for me to be losing interest in CF. Sad, but true.

This is a business...and it becomes more so every year. Don't burn bridges. We weren't going to make the playoffs when he made his decision....and Colson was developed so he is ready to hit he ground running next year!
