Chauca decision Friday

Brandon Chauca will chose either Cougs or Cal Friday evening at 6. It would be nice if one of these went our way.

Well if momma Chauca has her way ,it would probably be the cougs. Moms like the collegiate atmosphere of WSU and the relative lack of social problems pervading places like Cal.

I was told the parents are "100% staying out of it."

I do not think that any parent ever stays "100 % " out of it. If the family is close they will discuss it and will always give advice to their children.My son choose his school but asked for my opinion as he was considering his college choice. Parents always want what is best for their child but will try to guide them wisely while letting him/her make their own choice. So yes their own opinions will be heard and felt. It will be up to him to make the final choice,on that i do agree.By the way,my son picked the college which i felt was best for him all things considered.

Well at 7 PM eastern on Friday we will know the young man's decision. Actually even before that as with Rorie there are no real secrets in the internet age.

I remember sitting down with my parents at breakfast to inform them I was leaving to attend WSU in 4 days. They were 100% out of the decision.

Well some families are closer than others. I could not have imagined that scenario under any circumstances in my family.But it sounds like all worked out well for you.

I'm just reporting what I was told by Chauca himself. Both parents loved both schools.

This and other boards are all about opinions. The Cal board is very confident that Chauca will be a Cal commit. One of their recruiting analysts states that he has a source"very close to the situation" who predicts that Cal will probably be Chauca's choice.They also have a photograph of Chauca and his parents wearing Cal uniforms.

To be precise, Brandon's parents are only holding up the Bears jerseys whereas Dad actually wore a WSU jersey. Hey, maybe that's an encouraging sign!

If Chauca thinks about it,he will go with Kent's offensive system. Cuonzo Martin is a defense first coach which would not capitalize on Chauca's offensive strengths.It should be an easy decision but one never knows if he is thinking about that aspect of the recruiting war.

If basketball were the only factor in the decision, you are probably right. But, it is only one of the factors. We do not even know if it is the deciding factor.
