His body and intensity look ready to go for college hoops. Skills appear raw as probably expected. Hopefully he adjusts similar to Efe and Mo year 1, but without the need to play starter minutes. That's probably a tossup at this point.
He looks much better than I expected. Also hoping Diongue can make huge strides. He has the athleticism but needs to gain a ton of strength and learn how to play basketball. If he improves in those two areas he can be a contributor.
I watched an NBA Academy game with Chinyelu. First 10 or 15 minutes he must have had 5 dunks. Not all of them counted but included a 2-handed dunk off a miss that I'm surprised wasn't in his season highlights. He can be really explosive. However, when he wasn't dunking it seemed like there was a lot of processing similar to Efe (and Efe may have been ahead). It takes time with these guys that haven't played a lot of organized hoops and have been able to overwhelm most with their athleticism.
Diongue and Chinyelu seem to have really good attitudes. Hopefully the work-ethic is there as well. Yeah, hopefully Diongue makes a big jump. He was so raw in most areas of his game along with the lack of strength you mentioned.
