If the refs had called that like they should have, it would have been first down, WSU burns rest of 2 minute clock, and WSU wins.
Even the broadcast crew said it was a facemask that should have been called.

Not nearly as bad as the UCLA game in 2019. I've been saying that our D is weak on pass D. Also no real pressure on the QB, I guess there's a reason Oregon had a clean sack record. So it was what it was there.
Still, we were in this game and a young QB adjusting to P5 will make that pick 6 mistake. I do not like some of the play calling by the OC when we were still up by 5.

Yes that was a missed facemask.
Overall the difference was that UO has a better O-line - they could run the ball in the 4th when needed and WSU put all their eggs on a young QB.

Its is possible, but Morris will need help from opposing DC's. He's not doing anyone any favors with his circus sideshow playcalling.

I wouldn't say they would have automatically won. I mean you saw the end of the game where oregon had no resistance. Oregon gaining 625 yards is why we lost.
How about Cam Ward being allowed to check, audible to a run with 4 in box on a 3rd and 4.
Zero pass rush. If you are an All League DE, you better get sacks and make plays when the game is on the line.
The DBs are lost. They threw balls over the middle to wide open receivers all day.
I stand by my opinion of the 425. They have to get bigger up front on the DL, they have to play a true 3rd LB against the run, having 5 DBs on the field didn’t stop their pass game at all, walking down a safety to stop the run doesn’t work. So either the wrong scheme, the wrong guys, the wrong coach, a combination of or all of them.
With what we have... do you really think we can go 4 DB's?

Well, they lined up with a TE or a Wing or both and eliminated the DEs. It gives them a double team on the edge is pass protection AND a double team up the middle in run game. The scheme sucks. They shoved the DL around the entire game.
If you’re a HC or a DC and you watch your linebacker line up at corner, you call time out. You sure as hell don’t let them run the play. If your LB can be schemed into lining up outside essentially at CB ~ you f’ing lost on the chalkboard. You have huge flaws in your scheme. You have zero perspective of match ups. The Oregon offensive staff is laughing at you for letting it happen, then cringing cause you didn’t call timeout and stop it from happening.
Dick’s defense is not as amazing as some people think. He got outcoached today.
None of these guys get it. They haven’t had so much as a f’ing cup of coffee at WSU to know how hard it is to win. They don’t f’ing understand how critical the margin of error is. How many times have we seen WSU up and then the wheels fall off ~ for whatever reason ~ and lose the game late. Ripping defeat from the jaws of victory. And don’t get me started on the refs…. They got a small taste if ref horse shit today.
From watching turd line up his 4th string qb with 3 backs in a run and shoot offense on the goal line…. to SC wr running wild against a 230lbs LB match up …. to today seeing the DL get manhandled in the run game because they had more bodies on the OL than the DL and then watching the LB get schemed out wide in pass defense… You can’t hide as a coach at WSU. You have to be really really good or you will get exposed.
Yep, and Dickert got the full Coug experience as a head coach today. If he takes good lessons from this, we have something to look forward to. If not, we'll be back on the market.
