Clemson had appeared in the college football playoff for 6 straight years, and has won 10+ games in 11 straight years, so this years trip to the Cheese It bowl vs. 7-5 Iowa St seemed like it would have been a huge let down for the program.

Nope. Not a single player for Clemson opted out of their bowl game tonight. Tells you a lot about the type of program and the types of players Dabo brings in. Impressive.

I didn’t watch much of that game but was thinking to myself, man with the environment of college football today how are these coaches getting this team up to play. It really is impressive with a roster that probably has a dozen NFL caliber guys who are seniors or declaring that all of them wanted to play in this bowl.

I watched the game and they were certainly the most excited to play.

I also expected a massive let down.

Agreed but there are also schools in these other regions with several guys sitting. I don’t like Dabo either but it certainly speaks to the team culture and leadership that’s been cultivated that all these guys put the team over themselves. Not easy at all in todays environment regardless of what part of the country your program is in.

I think that team is full of freshman/sophomores and 5th/6th year covid holdover. They're in the cheese it bowl cause they don't have any prospects good enough to sit out, I imagine
