I know, I get it, sweeping the Oregon schools offers no guarantee that ESPN College Game Day is coming to Pullman.... We still need to beat Arizona, bla bla bla.... I KNOW.

But I don't care, I am currently enjoying our little winning streak! So let's pretend its a lock that Game Day is coming to Pullman, where do you think the set will go?

There are a handful of locations that I believe we be great for the show:

1. The parking lot on the corner of Grimes Way and Ott Road (next to the college of vet medicine). Haven't heard this one suggested yet, but there is a lot of space right there, close to the stadium, close to academic buildings, mini-grass quad next to it, etc... I actually think this is the likely location they would pick.

2. On top of the library - obvious choice, space might be an issue, but you are right in the heart of campus with spectacular views of the surrounding area.

5. The mall in front of Todd Hall. Same pros/cons as on top of the library.

4. The Track - Right under the stadium, large/central space. Negatives would be probably the utter destruction of all the grass there.

3. Parking lot at Alpha Phi's - Yeah baby, heart of greek row... among other positives...

Side note: I am also hoping ESPN does a lot more videos/features about WSU and Pullman than they would normally do for other schools simply because our flag is a big part of the tradition of the show (and we have b*tched for years about them not coming). Video clips similar to what was played during the game last Saturday (The one posted on facebook now by the athletic department).

Thoughts?

AGREE....Let's keep winning and this will sort itself out. Even IF we beat Arizona, we won't be ranked high enough to make this happen.

Agreed. It'll take more than beating AZ to get College Game Day to Pullman.

Top of the library. Also, not happening this year. Don't care about discussing it, though- there's enough hexes already.

They should just close down Stadium Way for the weekend on that stretch and have the statue, stadium in the background. Need more space that the top of the library offers. This is if or when they come to Pullman.

I see ESPN has picked up the WSU/Stanford game 7:30 start, we''' probably end up with Ed Cunningham and crew and his expert hold analysis.

Update:

Timeline of events that give me hope...

Sept 25th:
After the Coug flag almost didn't make it for the show, one of the show's producers tweeted out that getting the show to Pullman is now a priority.

October 17th:
On air the Game Day crew states something to the effect of "No promises, but the Palouse is in the hunt for the Halloween weekend".

October 19th:
It is announced that the Stanford game will be televised on ESPN.

College GameDay has been to a lot of random places over the years, and there aren't a lot of other slam dunk games going on during the Halloween weekend. We just need to beat Arizona (BTW any of you going to the game?)

Hope, eternal.

If it is that duo, I do enjoy Mike Patrick. And Dr. Jerry Punch. Ed, well, yeah. I won't say anything more. Brad Nessler would be money. We'll find out probably early next week.

According the Thorpe's tweet this game is one of 7 that ESPN is looking at. Have to beat AZ first, and that won't be easy.

My thought? It's not happening this year. I think we were eliminated as a potential site when they put kickoff at 7:30.

But...I think the set goes at the top of the hill near College hall. The service road gets closed, the crowd goes in the street and on the adjacent lawns, with Bryan Tower in the background. Or, Cougville gets shut down for the weekend and it goes on the practice field.

Could you link it?
I don't do Twitter myself, but I looked at Fowler's feed and didn't see anything. Also checked Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Sam Ponder, Desmond Howard, and the Gameday feeds...same thing.

That said, there are unconfirmed reports swirling in multiple places that they're going to Philly. I don't think that should really be unexpected, a 7:30 kickoff on the west coast means a really long day on the set. They don't do that very often.

Besides, there's probably no lodging anywhere in Pullman.

Hell it's Halloween set up your own damn gameday. Dress up a few yahoos as Rece, Herbie, Lee etc... Get a large gathering of students and feed it to ESPN. If nothing else it will make gameday no matter where it is. And maybe, just maybe it will inspire them to Pullman. I am sure there are plenty of creative minds on that campus. GO COUGS

We may have to at this point

I realize it's already been decided they aren't coming but something to think about, IMHO. Downtown. NDSU did it. Think of how it would look to have the WHOLE campus behind them. Logistics might be higher but man… That would be cool.

I didn't even click on the link, but those women look pretty indifferent for being in a music video. Even if it's just for Macklemore.
Macklemore gets so much juice locally for being from Seattle. Every time I come home I can't go from SeaTac to SoDo before I hear at least 2 of his songs. He's had a long 15 minutes for a guy who makes his living coopting ATL culture while looking like Phil from Rugrats. Apparently there was a huge latent demand in Seattle for an oversized ginger baby who grunts and snarls into a microphone about second-hand clothes.
