Maybe we should consider these guys. Land Grant, Vet school, Tier 1. Bigger stadium than ours. Might be a way to keep Colorado in the fold.

San Diego State, Colorado State. I kind of like it, although I still think UNLV makes more sense. We need to make a move. WTF are Klaitkoff and the Presidents doing?

We have one team in the Denver/Colorado market. That's all we want.
I've posted these stats before, but here we go again.

Colorado - 5.77 million people.
Alabama - 5.0 million people.
Oklahoma - 3.96 million people.
Kansas - 2.96 million people.

Those are all states with 2 P5 programs. Except Colorado.

Loyal,

What’s your thoughts on adding both UNLV and Nevada-Reno?

Las Vegas is a strong attraction like you’ve explained, but the Reno market is not much smaller than WSU’s own Spokane market.

Meh. Nevada - 3.1 million people. I went to the Reno game way back when. Kind of a dirty place, stadium was a joke. Although they did sell beer.

I’ve been by UNR’s stadium, but never in there.

Kind of looked like a high school stadium tbh

SDSU is attractive because they've been performing at a high level AND they are in a big market. San Diego metro is bigger than Kansas and almost as big as all of Oklahoma.

Colorado State is in the Fort Collins MSA....with a meager 363,000 folks. That's not going to blow the skirts up for anyone. And they kind of suck at sports right now.

I would take the Rams in a pinch, but I wouldn't rush into a deal with them.

Colorado isn't going anywhere.
Umm, read the news much?

I wouldn’t call Spokane WSUs market. Seattle has 10X the Coug followers as Spokane.

There are a lot of Cougs all along the I-5 corridor and in Cent. Wash. just going by flags and license plates.

Maybe playing the spring game at the new stadium in Spokane is part of Chun’s game plan.

Let me know when that actually happens. Canzano already pretty much confirmed was a nothing burger.

I was at that game and barely remember it due to that last statement of yours.
The next day we went to some sort of balloonfest (the kind you ride in) at a park. I had all my Coug stuff on and people were asking me if I was a former player or a coach.

Most memorable part of that game was when the skydiver bringing in the ball pre-game turned sideways and biffed it into midfield. By far the hardest hit of the game.

The place is a dump though. Brings nothing to the pac-12 table.

That was indeed scary. The guy lost his air and ended up dropping about 40-50 to the ground about midfield. IIRC, he ended up with at least a broken shoulder and hip and/or leg. Lucky for him it wasn't worse.

I missed that. I think we were late getting to the game. But yes - Reno is a non-starter.

I missed the skydiver but the most memorable parts of the game for me was some drunken idiot UNR fan trying to get into a fight with Butch and I was able to introduce my fiancée to family and friends.

Cougs do travel well. I am thinking about going to Colorado State.

I think I read shoulder, hip, and ribs. But that was almost 20 years ago, I could be misremembering
