I was surprised as anybody when they beat Linfield. Wishing the best for them. BTW....haven't checked it out ....but who is it Biggs??
Linfield, imo, may be the most consistently well coached football program on the West Coast. It is a damn shame their coaches aren’t moving up the ladder in college football.
@BiggsCoug, could that Linfield staff move up to one of the FBS schools in Oregon and Washington and hold their own?
Lance Leopold, the Kansas coach, got his start in D3 and he’s obviously exceeded expectations with the Jayhawks.
Johns Hopkins is 10-0 and pretty good this year. (Son's on track team and knows some of the players). They may compete and get to quarterfinal...but the Wisconsin/Minnesota teams are probably a step above. Same with track. Wisconsin-Whitewater guys are running low 10s in the 100 meters!Wheaton and Wisconsin Whitewater are prob favorites to advance to that quarterfinal game if Whitworth gets there. Both of their leagues are prob tops in d3 right now. Very competitive leagues. That part of the country is producing very strong d3 teams right now.
There are 4 leagues that matter in d3 when it comes to titles. One is in OH, another in WI, another in IL and the last in TX.
Everyone else may have a great season here or there but they will get drummed out of the playoffs badly when they run into a school from those 4 leagues. If Whitworth were to make it to the quarters and win, they have a national title caliber team.
