So here we are. No JDL. Wide open battle for the QBs, and Cooper is struggling again.

New system? Rust? Or have we reached the conclusion that it’s just not going to happen for him?

So where did you hear Cooper was struggling.

There is a Wazzu Watch story that says Cooper is comfortable with the Run and Shoot Offense, and doing ok, good, not struggling, etc.

That may or may not be a FLUFF, Ra Ra piece, but there arent any reports on Wazzu Watch or other places on Cooper's Stats.

Granted that info on his stats(And those stats might show he is struggling)might have been reported by Spokesman Review, or the Spokesman Review might have a source that told them that Cooper struggling, but I havent read the Spokesman Review recently.

So maybe I have been in a cave, but I havent heard Cooper has been struggling. I have heard quite the opposite.

But if he Cooper is struggling, then Guarantano the Transfer will be the starter.

But that said it really was, is Guarantano the Transfer's Starting Job to lose.

And the Transfer as the starter should be able to lead WSU to 5,6,7,8 wins.

So I am not worried. Cooper will likely be the back up QB.

So the depth chart will look like this:

1. Guarantano Starting QB

2. Cooper(Especially since, if he is struggling)

3. JDL or Cooper(If he struggles bad enough)

In any case, whether he is struggling or not, Cooper has had his shots, chances, and he is probably going to be a career back up. And its probably too late for him to transfer. And even if he does transfer as a Junior, Senior, its probably to late for him to start almost anywhere, unless he transfers to a place like a Whitworth tupe of place.

And that doesnt really hurt WSU, unless Guarantano gets injured, which if that happened would probably lead to a 3,4,5 win season.

It was really a good thing that Rolo brought Guarantano here, in.

Patrol, I can't tell at this point if he is actually struggling. When you look at the casting call we've had for receivers (which has let a lot of them show the staff what they can do, so it's not a bad thing that there has been such a parade of individuals), and consider the time required to build communication between the QB and the WR in this offense more than any other....I can't really say that I'm all that surprised that there are a fair number of mis-fires. Time will tell.

I think this is hard offense to grasp and it takes some time.

I posted an article a while back about high school coaches wanting to run the Runs and Shoot...and after a while they scrapped it in favor of the air raid as it is easier to install.

I am of the opinion to just run vertically and pass vertically and ask questions later.

But even in the Air Raid, the verticals are still read routes...but maybe trim down on the number of reads that has to be made?

As an addendum, I was really happy with the offensive creativity in the OSU game...then after that, it just seemed pure run and shoot and too many 5 yd outs

What happened?

None of the QBs stood out. At least from what I can tell.

Somehow this Run and Shoot complexity reminds me of the 5th grade AAU coaches who try to install the Triangle Offense, and then the parents in the stands can't figure out why the kids can't execute with one night per week practices.

What are we, like 10 days in to a normal (sort of) practice schedule?

Either this will all sort itself out over time, Rollo will need to revamp his teaching/scheme or Chun will find someone else.

Or someone else will find someone else. (In reference to Chun's interview with Northwestern).
