Couldn't watch the game so going strictly off of the box score. Covill had a rare good game, Wallack did ok but once again Mendes was the star. Have no idea how good Virginia is but they were 6-1 coming in. They had the best of us everywhere except assists (21 to 10) and final score. Way too many, 20, turnovers again.
I bought the flohoops to watch if I had time. It's pretty low quality in terms of the cameras, but I took the bait.
UVA is solid. Quick guards and a big that is really quick on both ends. Thought this was the best we have played for 4 quarters. Still too many turnovers (20), but we rebounded much better today. Covill's most minutes of the year (30). Mendes is definitely our best talent. She just needs more experience. She tries to do too much and gets out of control. Covill and Mendes on the court together a lot and seemed like our most productive lineup with Tuhina, Wallack, and J Villa/Abraham.
The huge downside of the game, Ele Villa came down awkwardly and injured her leg. It looked like an ankle (and thats what she grabbed). She needed to be carried off the court. She was having a really nice game (6-9 FG, 3-5 3FG, 5 assists, 1 TO).
Drake tomorrow. Iowa common opponent. They lost by 9 or 11, but much less than our blowout loss.

I think UVA is considered the best of the 3 we play in PR. Drake last 5 losses are to Creighton (by 8), Iowa (13), and Iowa State (2). All pretty good programs, but Wyoming and Green Bay losses are interesting. Yeah, day 3 can end up a blowout or sloppy with all the tired legs. I'm assuming Ele won't play. Regardless, I think we should win this game.
In other games, GU was drilled today against Texas Tech by 18. They have a couple players out, but makes me feel a bit better after we lost by 4 on the road that I really thought we should have won.

Watched the highlights and saw Ele hopping out to celebrate with help from someone on the staff. Looks like an ankle.
Yeah. They got us on 3 point percentage and rebounding. Just looking at win-loss records I thought this would be the easiest game. Hopefully Ele can come back soon. Never know with ankles.
Missed this one. Day 3s are tough. Our core played a lot of minutes against UVA and no Villa. Argh!
Ankles can take weeks especially if it’s those high ankle sprains. The WCC looks like a 1 bid league. Need Ele back healthy, so hope they let it heal up.

Just looked at the box score. Mendes starts, but only plays 10 minutes? Hope she didn't get hurt!
Covill had another efficient game with 13 points (6-7 FG), 7 boards, 3 blocks. IMO, with her length against the teams we are playing that should be the norm.
