Good defense in the first half. Holding a good New Mexico State team to just 21 points. Still can't shoot a lick....probably going to be the issue all season....but the defense is creating a lot of turnovers. Maybe Elleby will start playing better. Only 1 FG in the 1st half. Cougs desperately need him to step up. Cougs up 9 with the 2nd half to come. Let's see if they can avoid another second half breakdown.

Nice win, in particular when NMSU closed the gap in the 2nd half and Cougs responded.
I like Williams athleticism and court awareness.

Cougs win! 63-54 over a pretty good New Mexico State team. Elleby does step up for 20 points, but half of them from the FT line. Really good defense today. A week off now until the next game.

The last few years the actual attendance at the Spokane games have been pretty good and better crowds than almost all the Pullman games. I think those numbers you see from Pullman are tickets sold.

For whatever reason there was little to no advertising for this game and a noon start time didn’t help.

They're renting a hockey arena and the hockey schedule, no doubt TV schedule required this time slot.
If games are on TV, might as well make every December home game free for students and perhaps also Pullman residents.

Or even try this out with women's team first.

(And yes, all reported attendance values are fugazi in some manner.)

They did break their losing streak in hockey arenas and vs a decent opponent.

I had people last year tell me that there couldn't have been more than a couple hundred fans at Beasley even though the reported game attendance was more than 2000. Apparently a lot of fans dress up as empty seats.

Well those Spokane folks who didn't show up missed a nice game. Continues to baffle me a bit about 3 point shot selection. Kunz takes a nice open look and drains it. Bonton should get open before cranking it up.

Good defense. Been a long time since I have seen any. Shead plays very hard. Miller is impressive. Pollard plays just like I thought he would out of HS. Hard nosed, good plays and gets near a double - double.

Noah Williams is going to be a very good player for us in time. A little bit wild but the type of player that we need.

I was most impressed that they withstood two NM State runs in the 2nd half. That's new. I like everything about Bonton except his shooting. Seems like he's either out of control or missing a three.

Really like Williams. If he can find a shot he will be really good.
