I doubt this is a Smith decision. I'm not against change but college athletics. Doing their best to tear it all down.

I can't recall the details or if it even happened, but it seems like the conference adjusted certain scheduling requirements for non-conference games with the intent of raising each team's ratings for possible post season play. In essence, the conference wants to cut down on the cupcakes (quad 4) games that don't really help a team's overall ranking/rating. If that is now a requirement, then it probably isn't Smith's fault or even WSU's fault. Not sure about any of this, but maybe someone else recalls the same.

ps.....guess I should read the article before posting. There is some information in the article about new standards set by the Pac-12 to boost strength of schedule for each team. Maybe Idaho's poor NET rankings the past few years has made it necessary to remove the game.

It blows, but the Pac-12 won't allow us to play road games at sites with an average NET ranking over 5 years at 200 or below. Idaho is that team. We offered to play them at home and they declined, which I understand. I don't think we do this if our hands weren't tied.

That could have been the conclusion of the home and home agreement that was set before these rules went into effect which was last year.
