I can't recall the details or if it even happened, but it seems like the conference adjusted certain scheduling requirements for non-conference games with the intent of raising each team's ratings for possible post season play. In essence, the conference wants to cut down on the cupcakes (quad 4) games that don't really help a team's overall ranking/rating. If that is now a requirement, then it probably isn't Smith's fault or even WSU's fault. Not sure about any of this, but maybe someone else recalls the same.

ps.....guess I should read the article before posting. There is some information in the article about new standards set by the Pac-12 to boost strength of schedule for each team. Maybe Idaho's poor NET rankings the past few years has made it necessary to remove the game.
