Bummer...other than for all the Skaggs fans! Seriously, he was a big reason why we scared CU last year. Pretty sure Tad Boyle might remember as well though.
It is what it is at this point. I'm looking forward to seeing if Elleby and Cannon can continue to impress. If we can get a big game from Robinson or Ali and a normal one from Daniels who knows. Maybe Wade can put it together as well.

CJ Elleby's second foul didn't look like much and neither did Daniels flagrant.

Never got into much of a flow with the 2 early fouls. It's 48-82 with 4 minutes to play and the players left out there look as frustrated as you would expect. Cooper with a wild shot sucked in by the crowd that the shot clock was running out.
Where do I go to get my money?
Chalk up the next one at Utah as a loss (and Franks to sit out one more).
It has been a tough schedule (a month away from Pullman) for this type of team.
9 of last 15 in Pullman though.
I know it is more trendy to trash our D, which is nor good , but the offense has been worse the last game and a half. No off the ball movement, poor ball movement, resulting in only 5 assists last night. Last 15 minutes against the Huskies the same story.
Yeah tired of all this EK stuff on offense and defense. Both are horrible. Just plain bad coaching.
The bad coaching comes in playing Daniels and Skaggs. Skaggs is not a D1 player and he should really never play. Daniel s is just too small and cannot create his own shot or play defense.When he declared himself the team leader at the start of the season i thought it was a mistake .He really does not have good skills and is too small to play defense Skaggs also cannot create his own shot. If Kent wants to rescue this season Franks needs to get healthy and Daniels and Skaggs need to see their minutes drastically reduced.Those two are so easy to stop since they both cannot create their own shots. They are very limited as far as having good basketball skills. You cannot have everyone just standing around waiting to jack up a three pointer.
How dare Daniels and Skaggs ruin our genius coaches amazing offense... that is so well hidden even his own players don’t seem to know it’s there. And of course their liabilities on defense make it impossible for the other defensive stalwarts to execute the well thought out strategy being implemented by our staff of experts. I can’t believe Bone and his staff would ever recruit these two! I feel so sorry for coach Kent having to deal with so many terrible players left over from the previous regime. I’m sure once he gets his own recruits we will see significant improvement as long as we can keep them from leaving early for the NBA.
Who is he suppose to play? Cooper? Kunc? Cooper is basically a wasted scholarship and Kunc is nowhere near ready.

There's is too much standing in one spot waiting and 1-on-1 in the offense especially without Franks taking more of the attention on the floor.
It is simple to defend the cougs when those two players are in the game. They sit outside and wait for the ball to come to them Yes play Kunc and let him build up his confidence. Perhaps playing with the two PG s together would allow more motion on the court and drives to the basket . Every "genius" should know that an offense with everyone waiting to chuck a 3 pointer will not work. I said earlier in the season that Kent is coaching scared and he perhaps thinks that playing experienced guys like Skaggs and Daniels will produce results. It has and not good results. and he said something about changing starters. But like most long term coaches he tends to go with experience rather than skill, Daniels is a perfect reserve i said that earlier in the season and his skill set does not allow him to be more than that.Skaggs should not even be on a scholarship
You are absolutely right, every genius should know an offense where the players sit around and wait to chuck up 3s is never going to work. Yet our genius has implemented, coached and continues to run that offense. All our players stand around that’s the problem. Skaggs isn’t coaching this team, Daniels isn’t running the offense that’s all on coach Kent it starts and stops with him.
Kunc has shown glimpses of what he’s capable of, next year I suspect he will get more consistency and by his junior year I think he will be a much more regular contributor. However it is painfully obvious he is not close to ready right now. If Franks is out long term I can see a valid argument for scrapping this year and playing for next year except with our revolving door we cant be sure who will be here next year. Plus if Kunc continues to struggle all increased playing time will do is crush his confidence and set back his development. Maybe we could let him coach the offense and Cooper could take over the defense that way we get something out of Coopers scholarship.
