Las Vegas Bookmakers have installed the cougs as 9.5 point favorites. The cougs play Indiana-Purdue,whoever that, is tonight in Pullman.

Relatively new program over the last 15 years. Don't know much about them, but they seem to play a fairly ambitious non conference schedule. I think we played them once several years ago right after they became D-1

Looks like a ggod game to get back on track. It seems like Acquaah did not play very much

Daniels had another good game. Flynn bounced back from a horrible game. Bernstein is getting more involved all the time. 9 points 13 boards. Only thing I didn't like was sloppy ball movement resulting in quite a few to's in the half court

Pollard was very impressive.

I ll take 7-3 at this point. However they need Milan to start playing much better. They need his ability to drive the basket and dish the ball. However one wonders how he is feeling about sitting and not playing? We will know how the cougs are really playing next week. They play KSU which is a solid basketball team in Spokane. Also i just noticed that Chidom s name did not appear in the box score?

He didn't play. Never noticed until you posted. He has been getting minutes and looking decent. Must be dinged up or some other issue.

Thought it was interesting when they went Pollard/Bernstine instead of Chidom. No mention why Chidom didn't play in terms of injury. Seems like a message is getting sent.

Pollard had a nice game. He's really wants to shoot the 3.

The one Pollard took tonight made some of Acquaahs look good.
It looked better, similar outcome. I don't thing Pollard would look for it if he didn't have that kind range. He's taken a few and wanted to pull the trigger at other times. Maybe just needs to settle down. Maybe should get closer.

I think Pollard (and the team) would be better served by him working more on that little hook shot of his instead of the jumper.

The team's interior defense looked much better against IUPUI but that may have been more about the quality of competition.

TOs, rebounds, Daniels and Pollard are the four things I noticed. I don't believe 14 TOs is all they had. It seemed like they were turning the ball over every other time down the court at times. Kent got all over Bernstine a couple of times after a turnover. They did not rebound well. There were too many times they either just dropped the rebound or got out hustled. Daniels is playing better than anyone on the team. Nothing flashy, he just does his job. There's a reason he played the full 40. Pollard came off the bench and played hard with good results. He may be the best post player on the team. Don't know if he should be shooting 3s or not but he apparently has the green light to do so. I don't think either Flynn or Franks had a very good game. Flynn has gotten in the habit of complaining to the refs that he was fouled every time he misses a shot.

Pollard is playing very well but at 6-9 240 I would like to see a few more rebounds. I watch a ton of college basketball and it seems like the wave of the future is toward a rat ball style, this team included. I personally don’t like to see Franks taking six or eight dribbles at the top of the 3pt line trying to get arround a defender then launching a three but like I said it is kind of the norm right now in college basketball more imitating of the pro game I guess.

Franks didn't have a good game. That really hasn't been the pattern for him. He seemed to be a little frustrated and not letting the game come to him. Definitely forced about 3 shots.

I don't question the number of turnovers , but many were the result of bad decision making more than the tempo if the game. That had been the pattern in our losses also. Frustrating to watch.

The "rat ball" style can be beat by a more structured offense. In fact the cougs earlier in the year were moving the ball nicely and they had open threes.I liked watching the cougs make two or three passes resulting in a open three. I did not watch the game but wondered where the passing has gone? When i played, a player taking many dribbles before launching a long shot, seemed to disrupt the offensive flow. The lack of a team rhythm disrupted the flow and team work.

Agree. We were getting good off the ball movement and spacing in the half court earlier in the year.

Just an interesting side note. For all the talk about Dick Bennetts slow down style the only thing he told his guys was that he wanted at least two passes before anyone took a jumper. He felt that you couldn't break down a decent defense without the passes.

Agreed a player cannot move faster than the ball. They cannot be lazy passes. I wonder if the coaches point out the differences between the earlier games and the past four games?

I think spacing has been a bigger problem than over dribbling, although there was some of the latter yesterday.
