Cougs win first game of the season 82-70 in an easy win Daniels was high scorer with 15 points and showed an ability to score from way deep., Hawkinson had another double- double with 15 pts and 11 rebounds Izundu looked good dunking ,blocking and altering shots. The scoring was distributed and 11 players scored.The only player who did not score was Boese in very limited time. The cougs now have outside scorers who can move their feet ,rebound and play defense.The day is past where Kent has to forlornly looked down at his bench in vain in search of these types of players Clifford had a couple of nice moves.looked tired and needs to get back in game shape. it was a good way to start the season.

Hawkinson is a great watch!

Izundu is pretty raw but a lot better than I anticipated in game 1. He will probably have a tough time with fouls but potentially an ideal compliment to Hawkinson. Clifford is literally the exact opposite of Izundu. They both are going to have their ugly moments in OOC and year 1 but a big upgrade over years past at the 5. Give those 2 another offseason to work on their bodies and play against each other and watch out their senior season.

Suggs is a talent and has a lot of upside. He needs to tighten up his game as he is loose with the ball but the scoring and passing potential is obvious. Callison looks like the pg IMO but didn't make a big impact last night.

Que played with a lot more aggressiveness, a little more focus and energy than years past. Good to see because he still has as much talent as anyone in the program.

Boese will have a role on this team. He's too good of a shooter to ride the bench the entire season. Speaking of shooting I really didn't expect to see Daniels knock down 5 3s! Great start for him and he was also solid otherwise for his first regular season game.
