I'm not trying to be a hater, but how does a coach who has a roster stacked with 4 and 5 stars, the outland trophy winner, a top 10 draft pick qb... who lost to mediocre ASU team and underachieved by their own and others expectations - how does this garner the AP COY?

I understand that they won 10 games, but they should win 10 games.

I agree, at best Oregon met expectations. No over achievers for this season to award COY to. Wilner and Canzano apparently think the other Pac-12 coaches hate Cristobal, so that's why they awarded it to Whittingham.

I would have voted for Helton. How he held things together this season with the injuries and all of the rumors flying around was impressive.

Right. The Oregonian/OregonLive was filled with articles and commentaries about how the coaches screwed Critstobal and the players by leaving them off the COY and First Team accolades. It was all about how the other schools are jealous of what Oregon has and can do, etc...And some of their fans wonder why UO is hated so much?

If you believe everything that's posted about this year's recruiting on OregonLive, the Ducks are in line for the the #1, #2, or #3 player at just about every position on the field. So is there just one source for ranking these HS players? Is there an ultimate authority that can accurately say one kid is #2 at one position while another is #3? It looks like they are recruiting very well, but that kind of hype has been going on at UO for several years now...and I personally find the results somewhat underwhelming. (WSU should've beat them for a 5th straight year!)

Glad Cougar
