CSU prediction thread

Man, I really don't like making predictions on the Cougs but can't help myself sometimes. I want to see them destroy these guys so that we can finally see that this offense works but my head says we will be lucky to get a 3 score victory.

I'd love to see our offense get healthy but based on what I've seen so far, I'm going to say 24-10. If our offense finds some life, I think it's more like 42-7.
I'm not doing the reverse jinx posts anymore, but I'm genuinely torn on this one. CSU has been a dumpster fire on and off the field. New coach, new roster, new air raid offense, lots of player defections.
If we start fast and come out focused, I think they'll pack it in early, but I also think we're going to face a pissed off team in a classic trap game. Wisconsin last week, Oregon & Homecoming the next 2 weeks. Easy to look ahead.
Norvell is a good coach and their QB (Millen) is solid. Their offensive line has been a disaster so far, and if that continues, they have no shot. On the other hand, the only part of our defense that hasn't performed well this year is our zone coverage, and we'll likely see a lot of that defending the air raid.
If our offense comes to play, we'll win going away. If we continue to sputter, I think it'll be an annoyingly competitive game.

Like I said in another thread, CSU has been, is PAUL WULF level BAD, this year.
Also Dickert, players have learned from Idaho, and Dickert has said that they got to show up, can't look past CSU to Oregon, etc. And Dickert, Eric, players, Cam, offense, want to get the offense working right, want to destroy CSU, want to pull, rest starters for Oregon, etc, so Dickert, Eric, players, Cam, offense, is going to show up, be focused, take things out on CSU, etc.

Worst case is WSU by 13? Have you been a fan of WSU for 2 weeks? I've seen plenty of worst case scenarios that weren't double digit wins against some pretty bad teams.

Last week was a great win, but we're only 2 weeks removed from sweating bullets about Idaho driving down the field in the last minute to tie or beat us. Our offense, for all intents and purposes, has done absolutely nothing so far this season. Until they put it together, it's hard for me to be overly optimistic about us blowing the doors off of anyone.
And I am pretty sure that those teams that weren't double digit wins vs pretty bad teams, weren't as good as this team, playing a team as bad as CSU is.
While the defense not as good as 94, etc, the defense is still pretty dam awesome.
Also PROBABLY NO team with a defense as good as this teams defense and a winning record, that has beaten a top 20 Big 10 team ON THE ROAD, etc, has lost or had a CLOSE, 13 points or less margin game VS a PAUL WULF level BAD team like CSU this year.
Also like I said the coach, team learned their lesson from Idaho, and they have improved, gotten better, etc
And like I said Dickert, team, etc, is LASER FOCUSED on CSU. And that is obvious by what the players, coaches are saying about how they need to show up, focus, do max effort, play well, beat CSU, get the offense working vs CSU, and that they can't look past CSU, can't worry about Oregon, and that they need to do good vs CSU to rest their starters, etc.
Also not only is CSU Paul Wulf level BAD, but their OL is terrible vs WSU's AWESOME front 7.
And their defense is TERRIBLE, PAUL WULF BAD, WORSE THEN IDAHO's defense.
There probably is about a 99% chance that the margin of victory won't be less then about 10 to 13 points in a worst case scenario.
Yeah the game could be closer, or a loss, because nothing is GUARANTEED, because THAT's WHY THEY PLAY THE GAME, instead of just automatically marking the win down on paper, and not playing the game.
But I could also be hit by a lightning bolt too, as that's possible to.
The likelyhoods, probabilities is such that in a Worst case scenario, WSU probably wins by at least 10 to 13 points, minimum.
My Worst case prediction of 30 to 17 is not blowing the doors off.
Even 40 to 14 is only a 26 point victory.
A 26 to 0 score is not blowing the doors off.
A best case scenario of 56 - 9 is, would be blowing the doors off, but that's NOT LIKELY or not as likely.
Defense is meeting/exceeding expectations except in Pass pro. Decent in man/man but sometimes a bit lost in zone. Idaho exposed this. Wiscy a non-passing team overall exposed this (although to be fair some of that was due to the formations WSU was using specifically for Wiscy). CSU IS a passing team. We may get to the quarterback enough but I am still concerned. Hopefully D addressed this issue this week.

I'm going to the game with a CSU alum, and got comped for the CSU tailgate believe it or not. I figured there would be about 10 CSU fans there, but expect a few hundred. My buddy says "the Cougs are going to smoke the Rams."
35-13, in a ho-hum game.
I think I posted this before, but I consider this a big game for Ward. Needs to show improvement against a weaker opponent. Timing, accuracy, checks at the line, etc. And of course, I'd like to see something productive on scrambles.
