Dang

How do you not review the non PI
I don't think the league are homers for anyone, but they have created a spiderweb of a rulebook that is so complex and so subjective, they can't help but get tangled up in it every single game now. It was a legit missed call and there will be at least one every game from now until the league goes out of business. It is what it is.

That’s why the rule was put in place this year. After last years NO game.

It is the timing that hurts the most and amplifies the no call.

Exactly... The whole point of PI being reviewable was so that you didn't have blatent fouls that effected the outcome of the game. For them not to even review it was a big miss.

Two years in a row the refs play a huge role in the outcome of an NFC game. That was teh reason I thought they allowed the booth to step in.

They had only added rule because a media favorite (Saints) was impacted last yr.

Just like years ago when scab refs burned another media favorite (Packers) and ref strike got settled immediately.

Well, to be fair, I thought the personal call on the SF offensive lineman on the previous series was a lame call too. He clearly didn’t hear the whistle due to crowd noise.

Still a penalty, diving at legs well after the play.

Your take is not being fair at all. It is up to each player to know that the whistle is blown. It was unfortunate for him that he didn't. But, it was a late hit and that was a penalty. Think of it this way, sure the SF player did not know the whistle had blown. But, the Seahawk player did and let up. With one player still going full speed and the other not, that is how injuries happen. Hence, it will always be called a penalty.

Isn’t blocking below the waist outside the box 15 yards also?

Was definitely PI the ball should have been moved back to the 16 yard line. Hollister blatantly initiated the contact. The defender did brace himself at that point. Text book offensive PI.

Agreed. I've been saying for a while, the NFL and NCAA should just get rid of a good number of penalties. They're setting their refs up for failure.

Like, why is it PI in one of the leagues (or is it both, I can't even keep up) for a defender to break up a pass without looking back for the ball? Like, who cares if he's looking, or just lucks out and breaks up the pass by reading the receiver?

Really feels like football has a lot of arbitrary rules in place that without them wouldn't give either side of the ball a marked advantage.

Ha! This guy is taking trolling to a new level. That was a funny take.

Hollister grabbed the defender and tried to throw him out of the way. Good no call, but offensive PI if anything. And the league backed that up in a statement.

How is saying that even remotely trolling?

Then the game should have been stopped. The play reviewed. And offensive PI called. No?

The NFL dropped the ball and didn’t get the game stopped, then came out with those ridiculous comments today.

I think they had enough time to see what they needed to or they would have stopped it. The camera from the back of the end zone shows clearly that Hollister ran up to the defender grabbed him and spun him all the way around his body. The defender didn’t grab until after Hollister. The camera shown during the game live wasn’t nearly as clear. I was fine with the no call. But if the game was stopped the only call that could have been reasonably called was offensive PI. I just don’t see how the hawk fans have anything to complain about on that play?

Yes, both players grabbed. But, Hollister was not doing so when the ball was in the air. The defender was. Therefore, by definition the offense did not interfere with the defender’s play on the ball (since it wasn’t yet thrown) but the defender did hinder Hollister. By rule, pass interference should have been called, first down on the 1.

I just rewatched the play. Hollister still was grabbing with both hands when the ball was in the air. If it had not been the correct call would have been holding on Hollister.

Dude.........let it go.

The guy that posted right before me gave false information just like you did earlier, now that you stand corrected you want to be that guy that is so self absorbed that he thinks he should control what others post on a message board.

Listen, it's a subjective call.... Most on here disagree with you, so I don't know that you've corrected anyone. You link to a California journalist and Richard Sherman; it's not shocking those guys back the 49ers' position. You can't tout their position without acknowledging that Dungy, a hall of fame coach, also has a valid point of view. To me the defender clearly impedes Hollister's progress. If he had be running a straight drag route, there's no way Hollister could have continued across the field. The defender can't just get in the receiver's way indefinitely, and it's beyond 5 yards so it's at minimum illegal contact. When he continues to hold on, it appears to me Hollister tried to shove him off. As it were, Hollister appears to be running some sort on snag route (where you break in and then reverse back out). Again if you want to say the contact was incidental, then the defender should have no reason to grab and hold on. He clearly prevents Hollister from even making an attempt to catch the ball. It's a subjective call, so I wouldn't have been surprised if they had let it stand because they've overturned so few this year. But to have no formal booth review seems wrong.

Try Bellevue CC, Highline CC, Shoreline CC, Renton Technical etc. He may have been educated somewhere. Or not.

I said kayak was the lib. And he is. That was pretty easy to see, and you are calling me a dipshit. LMAO

8 of 10 times that play gets a DPI flag and a no call the other 2. The percentage that, that particular play would get called OPI would be less than 1%. When is the last time you saw an OPI that didn't involve an actual push off from a receiver in the NFL? Shit, they rarely call it when it's blatant. If they did, Michael Irvin wouldn't be in the HOF

That play involved a receiver grabbing a defender and yanking him 180 degrees around his body. If the defender had not grabbed on a little he would have been thrown to the ground. Much worse than a little push off.
