Deontay was just named MVP of an all star game.. I had forgotten all about him. I viewed his all star game performance and his HS videos. I was very impressed. He looks like Bambi out there, very graceful and completely under control. I wonder if his reported 4.69 40 time is accurate? He looks very young and will not be eighteen until later this year. He was said to fly under the radar and he sure did. i believe that his best days are ahead of him as he matures and gains about 15-20 pds of muscle. The cougs got a very good one in Deontay.

He's my pick for surprise recruit of this class. Not sure why, just a hunch. Can you compare him to someone currently or recently on the roster? Maybe Isaiah Myers?

Glad Cougar

Well it looks like Jim Harbaugh and Michigan are after Deontay now. Lets see if he honors his commitment or we lose him at the last minute. I hope that he stays . We had a DT who went for the glitz and a bigger school. other top recruits have stayed true and let s hope that Deontay does also.

One hopes that the distance factor makes a big difference. It is a long way for a seventeen year old.

On the flip side, one hopes that the distance factor DOES NOT make a big difference for WR Siheim King out of Georgia. He visited West Virginia, which is a lot closer to home than Pullman.

It proved to be a problem for Tim Settle,Marcus Lewis, and Mclean who choose to go elsewhere. King 's talents are uniquely suited for the coug's offense.Likewise Dontay would flourish in Leach's offense.

Michigan is a great academic school, and historic football school. This could be what might sway the young man. The offense that Harbaugh runs however is a much better design for big receivers and tight ends.
Burnett strikes me as more of a slot (Welker) type body which would make him a future special team player in Harbaugh's offense IMO.

In Michigan's offense he'll never have the opportunity to catch -8-10 balls a game!! Not even close.

At WSU in the air raid he'll have the opportunity to shag tons of balls.... on a good day maybe even 13-15.... and watch the receiving numbers go up and the scouts that want to see who is catching ALL THOSE BALLS !!!

Wazzu's offense fits the kids skill set better.

He didn't visit West Virginia.

Based on Deontay's latest comments he may be gone, He is scheduled to visit Michigan this weekend. Coupled with Dahu Green's offer from home state Oklahoma U,he may also be gone .Thus the late offer to Denver Johnson a 6'3 -212 WR currently committed to Iowa State
