Playing K-State with 7 scholarship players with King done, Pollard sick, Daniels still injured.

Doing a nice job against K-State so far. Got out to a 9-0 lead and up 21-17 at the moment.

Well, bad shot selection from Iroegbu, bad looping pass into the post from Iroegbu allows K-state to converge on Clifford and he walks, bad pass from Hawkinson, and K-state goes out to their biggest lead of the game.

Flynn with a 3 off a pass from Franks. Down 35-40 with the ball.

They are struggling to get good shots but sticking around. Given where we are I can live with this kind of game. K-State isn't the best offensive team but we are doing a good job defensively.

Spoke to soon on the defense as Iroegbu/Langston give them 2 good looks for 5 points.

I dont think it makes sense with Chidum. At 6-9 200 he needs to get stronger. Ergas is another matter. The kid isnt much of a shooter but he looks like a high D-1athlete. Only 8 scholarship players it is a tough call. There is no question in my mind that we simply wore down in an otherwise good effort last night. When the legs get tired it usually shows up first in the jump shooting which was horrible the second half.

If Daniels and Pollard get back to full speed quickly I think I would roll the dice with 8 guys. Also Acquaah is the guy who could help the most unless he is way behind schedule on his recovery

It's crying over spilt milk at this point but you simply don't redshirt 3 players in any one season. Once you do though burning a redshirt at the end of ooc is a bad idea especially for a player like Acquaah who was redshirted due to injury. This season is going nowhere. If it looked like we had a chance to compete for postseason I guess I could see it but at 5-5 with some bad losses I think you just roll with what you have available.

Pollard isn't going to be sick forever and Daniels will come back from concussion at some point. The walk-on can hit an open jump shot. That gives them 10 players any given day. Keep the redshirts on.

Pull the red shirts so we can see what they can do! It might be our only chance to see them before they transfer

You will see them next year. EK is not going anywhere unless you will contribute about 5 million to make it happen

He doesn't have to go anywhere for them to transfer or have you not noticed we are bleeding players

These guys will not transfer in my humble opinion. It is hard to get a D1 offer especially when one is in a program which is not a big winner.

I think that he will Ernie Kent recruited him and gave him his only D 1 offer. He also told him that he will be his PG for the next four years

Do you mean P5 offer? He obviously had an offer from Pacific among others. He would definitely have more offers if he looked to transfer. I would assume Acquaah would as well.

I do not think that either one will transfer probably disappointing a few posters on this board.

Everyone on this board wants to see Kent succeed. I don't think it's anything personal. It's just seeing the reality of the program at the moment. It took 3 years to bring in a few quality high school recruits. Unfortunately we didn't sign any high school players in November. That doesn't mean we might not find quality in the spring but the potential historically goes down.

Most are just being realistic given what's known. We are most likely a basement level team in the Pac 12. No guarantee that's where we finish but if I was a gambler...

I think Kent is starting to get a few guys who can compete at the pac 12 level by the second or third year. I never thought he was going to bring in many 4 star kids. Its too bad that first group was a total washout. Even though I was really troubled by last season I think Kent needs another season after this year if we see any significant player development from the freshmen and sophs

if people want EK to succeed then why do they mention possible transfers when these players have not given any indications of wanting to transfer? i think that you give a few fellow posters too much leeway in their criticism which goes way overboard in my opinion. He has taken a few players who have always had discipline problems and bring it to the table. Derrien King has had problems wherever he has gone. The same with Izundu,Why did he recruit these players?, because the last coach had made a graveyard of the WSU basketball program. Izundu has been a complete failure at SDSU so far. He had 0 pts,1 rb and 0blocks in the Aztecs last home court loss.

You are so full of crap. Now you blame EK's recruiting on some other coach. Facts are facts. This staff is the poorest recruiting staff since Graham. Might even be worse. Looking 7 of 11 is a travesty.

The worst thing about bringing in so many jc kids last season is that they got the minutes that Daniels and Franks would have gotten, to make them further along than they are now. Its not like the jc guys got us wins.

71 coug you are full of it. If you don t already know those two players were EK s recruits. He took a gamble and it did not pay off. Get your head out before you spout off.. They were disenchanted kids from the get go. It was his decision to bring them in End of story.

I would feel a lot better had we signed a couple of high school kids in November.

I know it's not as simple as I'm going to state but they need to follow up Flynn/Acquaah with similar level high school recruits in this class. The JC recruits they signed appear middling and not what's needed to continue to move this thing forward. Disappointing.

I agree. But my guess is that pickings are slim. Hinson sounds like a better jc option than a couple we have had though
