MacLean on the Coug roster:

"I think this is the most talented and athletic roster Washington State has ever had. Now Tony Bennett had great teams but he did it a different way. The pack line defense. This is the most talented and athletic (WSU) roster ever."

Based on raw talent 1 through 13 (14) I tend to agree. What do others think?

I think potentially, he is correct. I think this team is deep with athletes, although some of them are still raw.

This team's talent level may be the highest since the Raveling years. Remains to be seen if it will surpass Sir George's reign--a sentiment Coach Smith seemingly agrees with.

It is amusing that MacLean and others think WSU basketball started with Tony.

I go back to Harshman and the McKean-Wierman-Werner-Stein-Allen days but WSU has never had a Sweet Sixteen team aside from Tony Bennett's second year (exception: national champion runner up in 1940-41 with a 8 team NCAA tournament). So I'm guessing that's why MacLean uses the TB teams as a benchmark.
