To hear of some rumblings about a fight that occurred over the weekend involving some of our players. Not sure how serious the situation is but it may or may not have more than just a scuffle.

During my time in school never did I ever get into a fight. I partied and had fun, went to events and graduated. People always showing trying to show how big their D.icks are in fights.

I watched a High School jamboree the other night in Spokane. 4-5 skirmishes broke out during the scrimmage after plays. You can pull up social media in the summer and see these fights breaking out at training camps constantly. Everything is on video and instant. Trickle down effect for the youngsters trying to be like the pros. Saw the same thing in baseball with players staring down pitchers after they get plunked…which is funny considering high school pitchers have zero control.
Now I’m not one of these guys who thinks guys who get paid to play should be the role models for junior high and high schoolers…but some of these kids don’t have much to look up to and they do what they see.

Pushing and shoving with a slew of expletives should be the limit of 'fights". I don't understand why you would swing your fist at someone's helmet.

Regardless, it has to be drilled into these kids heads that fighting will get you kicked off and stick to it - they are way too big and strong to be beating the shit out of each other. These aren't the boomers of yesteryear, where the biggest guys toppled the scales at 250 and even 200 was a "big" dude - these kids are all monsters and can seriously hurt someone, with potentially life changing consequences.

but it's always a nasty 235 lb linebacker no one wants to fight.

well, LBs are mentally unhinged by nature, so there's that...

There was a video I saw recently about some NFL'er, real "gem" of a human, who fought with anyone and everyone, teammates included. Just a nasty pos - I wish I could remember who it was, but anyway - yeah, safety or linebacker, solely played the game to injure someone.

From that description... Vontaze Burfict. Probably the most blatantly, repeatedly, and intentionally dirty player I've ever seen. Went from a 1st round pick to undrafted based largely on character issues. Got benched by the NFL in 2019 for repeated player safety violations, and after that no NFL team would touch him. He's still only 31, probably could still be playing if he wasn't completely unhinged.

Fittingly, he played for Erickson at ASU.

Pullman PD activity log shows a report of a "large fight" at 640 NE Colorado (I think that's a frat a few doors down from Adams Mall) on Saturday night. That's the only detail, no mention that it was confirmed, or that there were any arrests.

Then there's Bill Romanowski.

Stop blaming Erickson. The Rock played for Erickson.

Blame Burfict's parents.

When you name your child after the infamous Baron Von Taze, that kid is going to want to inflict punishment on others.

Baron Von Taze was a Bad Hombre.

I don’t blame Erickson. I just mean Burfict fit the type he liked…especially at ASU, it seems. He found players that were outright mean and didn’t mind breaking rules…and obviously let them continue.

1. Burfict was a Jr.
2. Google returns nothing on "Baron Von Taze", so either a different spelling or urban legend?

I"m old enough to remember the days when you did not f*ck with the football players. It meant pretty much certain death. Or a ridiculous beatdown.

Especially the polys after a few sodas or when pizza delivery was involved.
