Draft Day: where do our guys go (what round)

Cooper - mid to late 2nd
Mayle - late 4th
Halliday - I'm thinking UFA, but I wouldn't really be surprised to see someone take a flyer on him in the 7th, or maybe even a late 6th compensatory pick (the Seahawks, Packers, and Texans all have 2, Chiefs, Rams, and Steelers have 1 each)

I'm thinking 3rd round for Cooper. Mayle is harder to predict...anywhere from 4th to 6th. I'm thinking late 5th or 6th. Halliday will have somebody sign him after the draft, unless somebody is playing their interest very close to the vest.

And if Conner is not not taken in the draft he should be signed very quickly as a free agent

Anyone who thought that CH would be drafted was being extremely overly optimistic to say the least.Maybe he will coach WR's for Leach in about 5 years. Arena football may be the ticket if he wants to keep playing.

Mayle went before I expected. Good for him. I hope he finds a home on the Browns.

I can see Conner making the Skins roster if they wave Colt McCoy. Might be a practice squad guy, but they could keep him on the cheap, to free up some money in other areas.

The thing about Washington that is odd is they have RG3 to run the read option with, but their other (now) 3 QBs are pocket passers. Is the writing on the wall that the read option and RG3 is done?

Ttown, your observation regarding RGIII as a read option QB and the other guys being passers is certainly correct. As Brand X is reporting, Theismann as much as said that Washington would trade Cousins. That leaves them with RGIII to start, McCoy to back up and Connor as the 3rd guy on the roster. Neither McCoy nor Halliday would be expected to run...one conclusion to draw from all that (and what seems most likely to me) is that the Redskins are going to try to keep RGIII from running so much this year. That would make sense from an injury standpoint, since there is no way otherwise that he will make it through a full season without injury. The alternate viewpoint is that RGIII will do what he always does, take the team a ways until he goes down, and then the team will go with a more conservative option...because they can't afford to have two read option QB's and then see them both go down.
