Drew Eubanks

Eubanks is a mobile big man who runs the court very well.It seems like Kent and company are looking for mobility and the ability to run the court in their recruiting. This does not bode well for a couple of big men on the current roster. Kent and his staff will try to recruit above the people currently on the roster.

This kid would be a freshmen in Hawkinsons junior year, it really isn't as much about recruiting over players as it is recruiting in general. Kent does seem to be looking for mobile big men with outside shooting touch. That sounds a ton like what we have been complaining about the last few years. Our recruiting battles are also seemingly against the same schools as before, except we have a little higher expectation on a few guys. Kent eventually will land a higher level of recruit than we have seen in the past and if he starts to win :) WSU could really be in for another potential upswing/golden era of basketball. I for one never lost much love for Cougar basketball but the feeling around the water cooler is much more positive than recent years!

It all comes to down to coaches being able to correctly evaluate players. The people who hand out stars seemingly do not know what in the hell they are doing. I have seen players ranked at three stars who will never make a starting college lineup. I have see unranked or two star players who will or have become stars. So the ranking ,unless 5 stars or even 4 stars, are not of much concern.I believe that we will see results sooner than most people expect. What amazes me is that some fans would rather see their favorite player log minutes than see the team win more games.i am satisfied with Kent's efforts so far,in the short time he has had to recruit.I am still hopeful that Kent will land another big man this year,to bolster the weakest part of the team.

He wants to play both sports and he would be welcome into the baseball program.I really like that he runs the court so well. His best basketball is ahead of him.As i understand it, he may be a better baseball talent and pro ball may call him.

It also comes down to the ability to close. Part of 'closing' is evaluation in that you have to find talent you can sign and that makes it in to school. I don't think Bone's problem was evaluating Pac 12 talent. It was the signing and getting kids to Pullman that was the bigger recruiting issue.

We will see what Kent can do. I am hopeful he can turn the above around but he's behind it moving into the next class as well.

I really like the one recruit whom he has signed for next year. This guy is an underrated player whom i have no doubts will get more offers before he signs Kent and his staff signed him right after their basketball camp. They had evaluated him, liked his skills and athleticism and got his commit right away. I have detailed what they probably saw in earlier posts. Pollard will be an integral part of coug basketball teams for the next 4 years if he does sign his LOI.

I also like Pollard I think his recruiting will pick up in the coming months, hopefully we hold on to him. I for one don't care who plays, don't care what style we play, don't care who coaches just as long as we win. I couldn't stand Bennett ball under Dick because we lost. I loved Tony's version because we won. To me it boils down to wins and losses. Like they say in the movie "If you build it they will come" I believe 100% that when Kent gets this thing rolling the fans and the excitement when come. Just look at GU for an example. I used to go to GU games and more than half the time you didn't have to pay because the work study kid taking tickets was chatting up some coed rather than paying attention to who went in or out. Plus you got in the gym and there were less fans than a average high school game.

That was where ,Coug basketball was headed. The program needed a infusion of enthusiasm and talent. I believe that the students will start coming back next year. The other fans will come back once they win a few games. Enthusiasm is contagious. I will go to Pullman for a couple of games as i have a long way to go and airline travel is fairly expensive. So about 5-7 trips a year does it for me

WSU didn't make his final list

Well if the cougs did not make the fianl cut,Kent will find someone else. Enter Matt Neufeld a 6'10 205 pd guy from Victoria BC. Kent seems to find these tall guys who look like they are cut out of a mold. Neufeld runs the court well, shoots well and blocks a lot of shots he averaged 24.5 pts,9.7 rbs and 2.3 blks per game. He has a 27' vertical.a 175 bench max and can improve a lot with weight work..He,also,does not appear to be highly recruited at this time.

What do you mean the Cougs didn't make Drew Eubanks final list. He doesn't even have one. He has five or six offers. Most notable WSU, OSU, and ASU. Note all three do play some baseball.

He has some UW interest and looks like he will be taking a visit there. But they seem to have a zillion 2015 offers out with no scholarships left. They are also after Tim Harrison a big who is on a Washington visit today along with several others they are after. Notable they have not offered Eubanks.

Since UW evidently also isn't in the Bennie Boatwright hunt they are casting a wide net.

According to a July 30th interview on the brand x premium board he is quoted as saying he has a WSU offer but has narrowed his list to six schools, Portland, Gonzaga, Oregon State, UW, California, and San Diego. They could very well be wrong but there was also something on his twitter but I can't seem to find it.
