I believe he is James Darling's son. Anyone in Spokane seen him play? Is the lefty D1 talent?
Forget letting the kid goto ISU, where he could portal to anywhere in the country, WSU, Smith, needs to offer this kid NOW, ASAP, build a relationship with the kid, get him committed to WSU.
If WSU offers, he will commit, sign with WSU over ISU, and probably over any Midmajors, P5's, too.
But if WSU let's him goto ISU they might probably not get home have him portal to any mid major, P5 program in the country.
Any kid that can score 58(60) in the GSL, etc, is a high mid major, mid P5, Pac 12, D1 player.
And also as James Darling Son, he is a AWESOME PLAYER LEGACY, that should try to get to play at WSU, and not risk letting go elsewhere like ISU.
That quick step back jumper especially at a lefty had me thinking of Taylor Rochestie.I’ve seen him play twice and was originally recruiting him but he has blown up this year and his talent is beyond the D-2 level.
he is a very good shooter, he is an average athlete, and plays very smart basketball. He listened to some bad advice and played on an AAU team that wasn’t a good fit to showcase his talents or I think his recruiting would have blown up even more.
if I had to make a comparison to a past cougar I would probably go with Viont’e Daniels.
I'm not plugged in much any more - but I can tell you, scoring 58 for CV is something. They don't tolerate hero ball in that program.
To put it in perspective the single game record he broke was Brett Bailey's who played 4 years at San Diego.
He'll beat Adam Morrison's single season scoring average, too.
I thought of Taylor Rochestie but not convinced he is as good with the ball as Taylor is. Also thought of Devonte Lacy but imo Lacy was more athletic.
Lacy was built like a Strong Safety. He is putting together a solid career overseas.I thought of Taylor Rochestie but not convinced he is as good with the ball as Taylor is. Also thought of Devonte Lacy but imo Lacy was more athletic.
He played for FOH (Team Lavine?). That's historically a solid program for getting kids exposure. And not near as slimy as Rotary. Or did he play for E.WA Elite?I’ve seen him play twice and was originally recruiting him but he has blown up this year and his talent is beyond the D-2 level.
